Major Downside of fixing the Elementals

Stupid me wasn't calculating things correctly. Ignore this thread and mods, please close/delete. Sorry for the noobish flood of a pointless thread.

You can't calculate it like that with a bishop stripped down to using only a weapon and no base stats, assuming that's what you did you get those low numbers. Try it with a base of at least 800 magic first before adding on the weapon's stats. Also, that calculator uses an inaccurate formula.

anyway, ive always wondered for a long time that even with a damage deduction, would bishops still be able to make use of the extra matk gain?

(similar to what i pondered here).

the answer is came up with is also no. ill show you the whole math if you want but the break down is basically this:

consider the shine/wisdom. there are a very good number of shines/wisdoms out there with 11x matk. and considering high leveled bishops with all their boss runs, they can afford 12x matk ones too. the elemental weapons have 14x matk. and i doubt anyone will throw any 30%'s on them for a while so the best those can be scrolled is with all 60% which averages them to 15x matk.

consider a 12x matk weapon vs a 15x matk weapon. they're 3x matk apart. 3x matk does not and cannot compensate for the fact that they're losing .25 of they total damage. if their gen hits 99k, they'll only be seeing 75k's. using an elemental weapon for a bishop is still a no-no.

xD. I had just settled into bed and turned off the light when I sat bolt upright and realized I calculated everything wrong, and had basically done what Cyanne said. When stripped down to just weapon comparisons, the Ele wands beat out the Maple Shines, but when factored in with all other equips, the 3x or whatever it may be matk loss is far less of an overall damage loss than the 25% reduction.

And yea, don't want your flames on me ;D.
