thorns and SE

can Thorns stack with SE?

I think they do stack.

Thorns is +35% crit chance (only for jobs that do not have a passive critical skill), and +125% crit damage for w.att jobs. The crit damage for mages is 225%.
SE is +15% crit chance, and +140% crit damage for w.att jobs. The crit damage for mages is 140%.

They don't exactly stack, but they don't cancel themselves out either. There are two attributes to both skills - crit damage and crit chance, whichever skill offers the higher boost overrides the other. Assuming both skills are maxed, non-mage jobs without passive crit gain the crit chance boost from Thorns and the crit damage boost from SE, while jobs with passive crit (NL, BM, MM, Aran) get the crit chance and crit damage boost from SE alone. Mages (except Evans) get both the damage and chance from Thorns.

I think they do stack.

Doesn't Thorns work at 50% strength on party members and 100% on you? I heard about that a while ago, but I think it wasn't true..

By the way, they don't stack AS much.

It only gives about 20% or so more crit rate to jobs with criticals. This is gonna change after the bigbang because Thorns is going to have the exact same stats as SE reguardless.

Right now, throns and SE technically stack, but they really don't do anything significant.

After BB, Throns will raise MIN crit chance and more additional damamge, while SE will increase MAX crit rate, but won't add as much extra damage. So they will stack BETTER after BB.
