He may have been referring to the armor(s) with durability. Have you tried it with armors and not weapons? I haven't, just asking.

So basically it only does it if he's on the bottom platform?

He will still do it if someone at or above his position hits him. As long as you attack from the ground upwards at a higher platform, you'll be fine. See video above.

Negative. Durability only decreases if weapon is used to inflict damage to a monster. I used to AFK daily with my Neo Eclipse. The only time that durability ever went down (by 1% was when I Crogged once with it. It's still at 99% durability without any repairs.

I was thinking durability armors. Weapons behave as you said.
