We Don't Need No Theme Mafia - Game over, RED wins
Russt Wrote:I specifically said "alive".

Oh. Yeah it was you. My bad. God knows how they got into Hurts' hands.

Also lol @ all of RED idling on Day 4. Whoops.

I stole from Daku against my will and came into possessing them all. When I died Hurts somehow acquired them from being the swing vote or some other method...
By killing you, actually.

Swing vote? What? I night killed you.

Edit - Ray sniping me </3
So uh... how did you not die Night 6?
Red wins? Perfect.

Golden Wrench - Look at my role PM.
Kurtle Wrote:Wow, Electric was the one person I trusted and he detected me, but didnt turn me in. Hrmmmm

Well, he did die that night, but I wonder why he wasted it on me...

Urgh, twice the puter has eaten my posts. Long story short version: I wanted to check out my mason group first, so that I could be fairly sure about who was voting and why. If they were townies, then their different vote must have a reason, if they were mafia, their different vote could mean they were trying to protect one of their own. With that knowledge and some strategy, things might have happened a bit differently. Unfortunately I think I was a bit too vocal and that got me killed before I could do much. It could have been for other reasons, but I'm guessing that's why Dark killed me.
so heres a question to everyone: how much did you communicate between your mason groups? i know i rarely spoke to meph or dark about anything.
Kurtle and I talked quite a bit. I pmed Will, but didn't get any response. After I found out Daku was a townie and it started looking like I might be killed, I made sure to tell him what little I could as far as my role and my suspicions about Russt due to his mention of the Star Wars character, and my lost item being an obvious star wars reference. Though I was on the fence about that since he could have been either a townie ally linked to my character like Luke Skywalker or Obi Wan, or he could also be a member of the mafia, either a thief or Vader/Palpatine. And I also informed him that I was checking out Kurtle before I died. If I had been able to, I was originally going to look up Will the first night, and thus I wouldn't have bothered checking Kurtle, determining two of my members as trustworthy, or at least knowing what group they were a part of, would have been fine until later in the game. Unfortunately my checking was pretty much wasted as everyone in my group was a townie. If I had figured that out sooner, or just decided to take a chance that the majority of my group was townnies, I probably could have found out something better, but I went with what I thought was a fairly logical strategy. I figured with at least three to four people, I could make sure that when it came down to it, we could lynch any mafia I discovered. Even if I had found Kurtle, Daku, or Will to be a mafia member, as I said, it wouldn't change my overall strategy since I'd assume that any vote differences between what was discussed and whatnot were due to that and plan accordingly.

you'd have to get bta and dual for what progressed in our mafia, i was just riding the ride with them, but i suspected that russt would be either boba fett or obi wan.

one thing we did when we first started was we shared everything we knew about one another (my mafia team), which included our mafia teams. i think it was BTA who asked ray about it as it wasn't defined in the rules explicitly at the time, though after he found out he made this post. from what happened throughout the game i knew that due to El6's attacking daku in the thread they wouldn't be allied. not having communication with my mason team seemed to have been a good thing seeing as how i was paired with two of the enemy mafia, a theory we came up with and was eventually confirmed even before the end of the game. seeing how Ray flubbed up my inspection of Xela was, well... interesting. it did reveal that dark was a mafia to me, and that just further put more "do not talk to them" into my mind, and from the getgo i was leery about meph after hearing he was an experienced player. yeah all i could do was see who could talk to whom, and for as far as i used it i think i did pretty well with gathering intel. after seeing kurt, will, and russt vote together on day 2 or 3, forget which, i knew that someone was aligned and checked will.

After BTA was killed it kinda put a bit of a damper on my spirits, but after learning about the symbiote i jokingly mentioned with my team the spiderman reference. surprised to see i was right afterall actually, as well as seeing meph was A BLOODY PYRO and not a megaman character. though it would make sense as the characters were based off of ray's interests. overall for my first time dealing with these sorta games, i am impressed. i never actually read the wiki, as i like to learn things as i go along. one way i coped with the overflow of info trying to adapt was put the game into perspective of that like the manga Liar Game. misdirection, backstabbing, and "implied implications" made it a fun and amusing way to put my mind to work.

lastly: <Rayquaza2233> It's entirely possible

The two nights I was alive, I talked between Xela and Russt a lot.

Mind why did you guys kill me? D=
...Tobias, you want them to come to me for information on what we did? Most of the time I just sat there while you and Dual talked and made sense of things. Then I got to make an epic post and died. ;_;

As far as mason communication, I set up the IRC room for us and talked to Yoshi. Then Seraph eventually came in, and while Yoshi was in there more than I was, Seraph was in there fairly often too. When I died, I handed over ownership to Yoshi and left, so I assume that they used it from then on.

Lol I know I thought the same thing when I saw the first game playing out. It's a lot of fun, but very easy to oversimplify or overcomplicate things. I took the news reports and came up with a pretty logical theory about them, but in the end it turned out to have been something completely different than my thinking on the matter. Also, after now playing both sides, I gotta say that being mafia is tough work, but in some ways easier than being a townie since you have a bit more control, or at least feeling of control. Anyway, I think after the next themed game I'd like to see a vanilla game done, though I dunno if anyone else is interested in one.

honestly id rather do a vanilla/themeless one. yeah being mafia was awesome, getting to know all the information other people are left to guess and ponder. dual and BTA were a great help to make sense of it all (shut it BTA you did help), and i had my own ideas while going. i forget when but i remember checking russt and who he could talk to and seeing that he could talk to meph kinda put me on edge wondering about if they were mafia or not.
