What is the best way to catch a hacker?
#1
Hi everyone!

(To be honest, my English is not good Stunned )

I come here with a question in my mind, although I knew that this box is not the "Maple Q&A".
Have you ever seen a hacker in game? Most of viewers 's answers will be "absoluted yes"... so it 's absoluted not my question. (jk Tongue)

You see, the topic I' m bringing today is how to report a hacker. I mean the hackers who use vac-hack and auto-changing-channel.

My story is: I saw some ppl used that hacking-method at Crimson WoodKeep, and after many times trying... I got 2 of their IGN. (I dont mind to public that here:

Names Moderated per [thread=1]R&R[/thread]

If you had tried, you would know it's impossible to report them in game (Bcoz they change channel so fast, I had to camp for them). And now, I wonder if all my trying is worth anything, if I cant report them to GameMaster?
I tried to find some information in the homepage, like reading the "User abuse", but... where the hell they gave their contact information? I mean, something like a GameMaster 's email, or... anything. They just said that we should help, but dunt tell us how to help.
So, I wonder if anyone can give me any clue, or any advice. I hate hackers, they ruin our gameHothead , and I hope you might help me.
Thank you very much!

If you really want to report them, you could send a ticket. You may wanna remove their IGNs though, unless you want to post in the "my first infraction" thread.

Sorry, I dunt get it. What is "ticket"? Do you mean the report-system in game? That thing just works for stupid hacker who doesnt use the auto-cc, it's very hard to catch them in game. I lost much time just to see their IGN, and I dunt think I can ask them to stop cc and let me report them.

on the website, click "support" and then follow the instructions for sending a ticket there.

as for the latter part of his comment, hacking accusations, proven or not, are against southperry's rule and will get you in trouble. you need to edit your post and remove their igns.

He means the report system on the website. Somewhere on the game's site, there is a Customer Support section, where you send reports and such.

EDIT: Beat me to it. ;-;

Lol, sry for that "infraction", I didnt do it on purpose. I've just looked for that word in the dictionary. Since my English is not good enough, sometimes I dunt understand what ppl said +_+ . I wont let that happen again, although I have no mercy with hackers :|.

@Polka: Can you pls give me the direct link to that page? I think I diged all that "support" but couldnt find the information I need +_+. I wanna know another way to report them, not the in-game-report-system, how can I do that while they cc so damn fast?

Best way is to make a video of them hacking, upload it to youtube, and log a ticket showing that video.

Screenshots don't work.

Individual hackers are rare in JMS; usually it's a systematic attempt by Chinese goldfarmers. There's nothing we could do to hasten the dev team from closing whatever exploits there are. Even if you ban accounts, they can just as easily come back using a proxy (which is how they access JMS).

What's JMS have to do with this topic? He's asking how to report in GMS.

I was adding a disclaimer. If cheating is being done by a for-profit group, there is not much good in banning accounts one at a time. It's far easier creating an account than banning one.

@Polka: Thank you very much! This is exactly which I need.

@All: I'll try my best to help GM with my tickets, and I hope you might do that too. (If you re too busy to send a ticket, you can msg me the hackers 's IGNs and I'll go check them my self, b4 I send a ticket to report them. But... only in Galicia)

best way to catch a hacker is to not catch them. complete waste of effort, really. even if you do take your time to report them, there is almost no chance that they will be banned from your report (and even if they are, they'll just make another account).
