Evil Campus Router
#1
I'm getting strange error messages and problems when loading certain things from the internet.

Concerning maple:
 Spoiler

I'm currently behind a wireless router from the campus here in Cachan, France.
I'm also using a proxy (as instructed by the people here, in order to access the internet).

The computer used to run fine in Brazil and my account is old enough that I don't get IP blocked.

Any idea how I can get maple to work?

EDIT: I meant CAMPUS, not COMPUS.

I'm not one to give computer advice, because I've put up many threads myself...But if no one else is posting....*cough*

You should check your firewall settings.

You should check your firewall settings.

Done that already, the only firewall I have is Windows Firewall. I've checked and all programs are there as exceptions, even turning the firewall off the problem still continues.

The first error that appears is in Portuguese, which I'm assuming is your native tongue. Because that's in Portuguese and the Nexon errors are in English, the first error is generated by your operating system and not by Nexon. Are you connecting to BMS? Are you using a proxy, or do you just have a Portuguese OS while residing in the States?

Regardless, I think the problem is on your end. Did this just happen after moving to college? When did you first start noticing the error?

These problems only started happening once I moved to France and started using the internet at campus. I'm connecting to GMS as I have always did. I'm using a proxy as per instruction of the campus. My OS is in portuguese (my home country is Brazil) but I'm currently in France.

In Brazil I didn't need to use a proxy since my account is old enough.

Listing all the changes from Brazil (where it worked fine) to France (where it gives these errors):
-Obvious change of country
-Internet by wire -> wireless
-Internet through an USB wireless adaptor
-Use of a proxy as instructed by the university (it has a password)
-Some web pages are apprently blocked (until now just 4chan)

see if you can access these pages? for me they all give the 404 error except the first link
do you receive any message saying blocked by proxy something?

"CDNetworks Test page" on the first link, 404 on the others.

Also, list of all programs which display some kind of error (that I've seen):
-uTorrent (doesn't download anything, can't really do portforwarding though)
-avast (doesn't show some stuff)
-Live Messenger (can't log, I've tried all their ideas for solutions)
-Skype (can't log)
-MapleStory

This problem is still there. Can't seem to find a solution.

I seem to have found a way to get around the first problem (the errors on logging through the website).

Also, I think I know what to do to be able to play: I need to set up hackshield so it connects through a specific proxy address using a login and password. Any idea how to do this?
