Zakum expedition requirements

Now that the sign-up system has changed to "raid"/"expedition":

I've noticed you can add people who haven't done the pre-quests to a Zakum Expedition.
Also, you can enter the Altar when not all Expedition members are in the entrance room.

What I haven't tried is entering the Altar when there are fewer than six people in the entry room. Also haven't tried going through the portal with an Eye of Fire but no pre-quests done.
Anybody know whether either is possible now?

I'm pretty sure all you need now to go in in terms of sign-up requirements is 5 level 50+ characters anywhere in any channel.

You can enter the altar period as long as you have 6 people in your expedition group, they don't even have to be anywhere near el nath for you to do it, but it does count as them going inside. Putting that aside though if you don't do the quest, even if you have an eye of fire you cannot go into the altar unless your quests had been completed.
