How do you get virus?

Just wondering, cause I have never gotten any virus in my whole life except for an MSN virus that tries to send my other contacts this virus, but later the sender who sent to me told me how to fix it. I never used antivirus, I had zonealarm on the computer about 5 years ago, then I uninstalled it. I have an antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection) now cause it's required by my university to access the internet.


So if you have gotten any virus, How did you get it?

I've only had one serious virus since I moved off of IE years ago and had my own computer. Got it due to an Adobe Acrobat Reader JavaScript exploit. Went to isohunt one day, saw an "OMG PANIC VIRUSES" notification explaining how it works, went and disabled Javascript for Acrobat, but got it anyway. All I had to do was view isohunt and have the luck of having one of the rogue ads load on that page. selace.k was the name of the bug I think. This is also when I upgraded to Microsoft Security Essentials to clean it up.
