Cannot connect to Maplestory

I have been playing since beta on my beta character, bera characters, then this character all the way. I have NEVER encountered such a problem. Heres a conversation i had:

1. Launch MS
2. Login(slowly)

4. Press any character
5. PIC
6. Wait for character togo on
7. Give the disconnect login server; if 7 doesn't happen and i get in[7:36pm]
8. Monsters stop and i lag out. Also, if i click view all characters none of my broan characters show up im still in rankings and even though they dont show up i can't log in to the others anyway.

Im not exactly sure why this has been happening, and I cannot figure out what to do; I'm about to give up.
Also, if you come in here and want to tell me just quit, kindly leave the thread now unless you absolutely know there is no way for me to ever get it to work again.

This probably doesn't help much, but something similar happened to me. When I put in my password in on the site and launched the game (before they had us put in our password again once the game started), I joined a channel and was immediately disconnected without any notice or anything. I tried logging in ten or more times. I could NOT figure out what was going on for the life of me. So, what I did was, I clicked on my MS icon on my desktop and tried to log in that way. When I did, it actually popped up with a message telling me that I'd been banned for "misconduct" when all I was doing was standing in the Time Temple, doing nothing. But now that won't work, I don't think. When you click on your desktop icon, it takes you to the site instead of starting the game. I had to try to log in to the game the wrong way just to find out what happened to my account, since logging in from the site just disconnected me once I tried joining a channel. The game needs a notice box to show us if/why we've been banned or blocked. Is it possible you're banned and it's just not telling you so, like it did to me?

You could try GameLauncher.exe in the MapleStory folder.

Actually, Ray is exactly right. If there's some kind of flag on your account, logging via the site won't tell you what's wrong. It'll just keep disconnecting you. Use the GameLauncher.exe and see if the game starts. If it does, log in and see if you get a pop-up window giving you some kind of explanation. This is your best course of action right now, I'm afraid. :/

I presume you aren't always trying to log onto the same channel? Some are only able to log onto certain channels. Mostly east-coasters apparently.

To launch game directly:

Right click on MS icon,
Select properties,
In 'Target' area change
"C:\Program Files\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe"
to
"C:\Program Files\MapleStory\MapleStory.exe" GameLaunching
Click apply.
(This is for XP, Vista may be same but without quote marks)
Done.
No message asking if you really really wouldnt't rather go thru the site.

Im not banned. Every few times i do get in. I can talk. Then in a few minutes i disconnect. I'm still on rankings. I see no indications of being banned.
On top of that, 3 weeks ago i couldnt log in. So i go on vacation. and poof. i log in fine. Now im back and im screwed all over again.

Where is ths "target"? Edit: Yeah this is XP.
I figured it out..worked for like 3 minutes and lagged out...
Edit: It works better now, but i still a having issues with lagging, CS, and CCing
