But yeah, the Manga is indeed inaccurate. Blue is supposed to have Squirtle (In the anime, Gary has Squirtle as his starter, so the manga writers ignored the "Rivals always have a starter that has the advantage over your starter" logic and gave him a Bulbasaur, even though he's Blue (Green in the Japanese version)), Green's supposed to be a girl and have a Bulbasaur. Ruby is supposed to have a Torchic, and Sapphire's supposed to have a Mudkip. It's like in Snake's Revenge where there's 2 different plots. Listening to the Game's plot, you're taking on Big Boss, while reading the manual, you're taking on Higharolla Kockamamie.

Speaking of Sapphire, there should be an anime about Sapphire (I am referring Yuki/Brendan as Sapphire).

Pokemon obviously have 2 different plots IIRC.

They're completely different universes. I haven't read the manga, but I know a couple of events that happen in it. I'll go over Kanto - 4 protagonists (Red, Green, Blue, Yellow), two starter Pikachus, Zapmulcuno, evil gym leaders, evil Elite 4, and two second gen Pokemon. That's a condensed version.

I know of the manga's plot, but I'm referring to the games, not the manga. The similarities between the anime and the games are too great to say that we cannot compare Red to Ash and Blue to Gary.

Yes, but if we were going off of the "same people" concept, this whole thread would be moot point.

I'm not seeing how this whole thread would be moot if we're saying manga characters and anime characters are different. The fact they're different makes it so that it is possible.

But it would be moot because saying that they aren't the same people is immediately writing off the fact that they have astonishing similarities. If we're to find they're similarities, but already have written off that they're completely different, makes no sense.

Different people can have similarities, that's what makes them... similar people.
