Making an evan, Need suggestions on ap/equips
#1
Hi guys, I plan on making an Evan and recycling some equipment I already have. I currently have a pretty decent set on my bishop which is equipment from 88-100. These are fury coat, pachone, nelis...ect. Also I don't plan on using an elemental weapon because I wanna keep this fairly low budget. (this won't screw me over too much will it?)

What I plan on doing is to have the absolute lowest luk needed to wear these equips. I need suggestions on what can be upgraded/scrapped to allow me to use less AP in luk.

I need a minimum of 90 luk to wear the overall which will then allow me to wear the gloves and shoes and give me a grand total of 96 luk with 2 more needed to wear the weapon (so really 92 minimum needed). I have +41 luk luk in equipment that doesn't require stats as a base line.

What do you guys suggest I do to raise my luk, or rather, what would be an optimal Ap distribution to do this? Remember the goal is to wear end up being able to use the weapon (98 luk) while maximizing int or an alternative lower weapon with the same end magic stat (while not being too expensive). I plan on using this wep since I already have it and cringe at alternative staff/wand prices.

Equipment I have to work with:

Also, to save some work if this applies, would going lukless end up being cheaper(take into account of what I already got) and end with a higher magic stat? If so what would I need for that :S

Sorry to post a long question but where else but to ask the best Rolleyes What do guys and gals think?

Your Zhelm +17luk and Shield is +12 and rings + 4

Get yourself a +22 or 23 HTP

That'll get your total up to. 4(base)+4+22+17+12=59. You can get the Aran lvl 70 ring and get 3 luk from that. So 62 so far.

the rest idk. major thing to get is an HTP for you

Keep in mind that the more +LUK you try to get, the more +INT/matk you have to give up. Since Evan's are an attacking magician class, it's better to go lukless. Going the lukless route, your final weapon would be Wand 5, or Wand 6 if you're not rich enough.

Thanks for the replies. Ideally luckless seems like the way to go. However, that would require quite a bit of funding down the road that I just don't have at the moment. I am leaning towards low luk, simply because I have stuff but, as you said Tikey, focusing too much +luk could take too much of a bite out of the int/matk bonuses. I think I'll probably start out lukless and try to see how far it takes me with what I got and possibly round up some funding with apq mules. If funding gets too tight I at least have something to fall back on by balancing things out. And then there are always AP resets I guess Frown

To cabooseman's, a HTP would help my guy a lot assuming I go with the original plan. However, I don't know how I'm going to get my hands on one but thanks for suggesting it as I completely forgot about those Eek I could also get some extra luk via medals and the dragon's golden pendant too.

Going lukless wouldn't really require funding at early levels. You can still output quite a lot of damage by just being lukless.
