Hi there! Call me Saiekh. I'm new to Maple, as well as this particular community.

I found out about Maple during a regular IRC chat at DFOSource. Someone made mention of MapleStory, so I figured I'd check it out, just to see what it was like.

Anyways, I migrated from WoW to DFO not too long ago, and now I figured I'd give Maple a try as well. Even if I don't stick around permanently, I'd at least like to check it out.


Now that the introductions are out of the way, I'd like to ask if anyone can tell me about the classes, and what each one does and is capable of.

Also, I'd like to know how well my comp can run Maple (specs listed below), if it can even run it at all.

Windows XP Home Edition SP3
AMD Athlon 2650e 1.61Ghz Processor
nVIDIA GeForce 6150SE 256MB Graphics Card
160GB HDD (split into 69GB Partitions)
1GB DDR2 RAM (VRAM is shared with this, so technically I only have 896MB)
Realtek HD Audio Sound Card


Also, is the Chinchilla the site's mascot or something? Or does the owner of the forum simply love Chinchillas?

Wow, a lot of questions.

1. Click on this (also in my signature to figure out what class you'll be. Keep in mind it DOES NOT include the Cygnus Knights and Aran. Cygnus Knights are basically nerfed-down versions of the other classes, but they level faster. Aran are basically warriors who do a lot of combos and crap. Level quite fast.

2. Your computer can obviously (unless you have a lot of viruses and porn) run Maplestory. Maplestory, being a 2D game, doesn't require much.

3. Erm....I guess both, but it started out as the owner liking chinchillas.

4. Yes, we have an IRC channel, and to connect it with Flash, click on the "Southperry IRC" link under the Forum-Blogs-What's New?-Donate toolbar thingy. You must be under Forum at the time. Then hit on Flash chat.

Beware, leveling up in MapleStory can take quite a while at higher levels! Also, funding can kinda suck at lower levels if you don't have friends playing or NX. What server are you joining?
