Nexon's Insecurity Shows Again.

Source: http://sleepywood.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1631416

Apparently, there's been reports that now the PIC is required to delete a character, instead of the birthdate previously before the PIC system was introduced. This means that hackers need to know one less thing to delete a character, which can't be good.

Yes, we had a discussion on this the day this was announced. It's very dumb, I see no valid reason for doing this. Anyone who gets their account taken can literally lose it all now. At least with items stolen, they can work their way back up and perhaps get aid from their friends.

Now, if the person is enough of a douche bag, they can remove that luxury from you.

Yeah, we've figured that out :f6:.

I don't see any reports of hackers deleting characters, though.

Old stuff is old. It's already been posted in the Extractions thread that you no longer need a birthday.
#5
Already figured that out in my extraction thread just by using logic. I'm going to close this.

"Insecurity" is not the right term here at all, haha.

But yes, in trying to do something good they've just made everyone infinitely more vulnerable.
