Happens way too often, bro.
I'm surprised you didn't post a "She's a cartoon, not your waifu", Greg.

It is a horrid and decrepit world we live in. The media is constantly bombarding our senses with pain, despair, suffering, and hate. People look upon each other with distrust, loathing, suspicion, disgust, and fear. The world has always been like this, and the world will always be like this. The world is unfair, the world is callus towards its people. It's only natural for people to search for happiness; some people think material things will bring them happiness, some people think lots of carnal intimacy with other people will bring them happiness, some simply give up and turn to drugs to numb it all.
All those things are ever able to do are make people content and numb to the pains of loneliness, rejection, depression, and sorrow.
A waifu is a modern day romantic's small piece of joy and non-perverted pleasure, someone to love, look after, protect, and cherish, even if only in the mind.
Some may think of my waifu may be nothing more then some middle-aged man's idea to make money by putting ink to paper and hoping it sells from the other side of the world. Nay, for it isn't simply ink and paper as people perceive. It isn't the page you love. When one looks at a photo of their wife, they realize it's not the photo they love but the person in the photo. Others may look down on the very thought of her, but that does not mean she is any less precious to me.
To you, my waifu.

One of my favorite fantasies about Faye and me are about being a married couple in the future together. It both makes me very happy when I imagine it, and also very sad when I realize that it'll never happen. I actually don't want to describe the whole thing in a single post, so a small part will do, with the entire fantasy maybe written out as mywaifu5.
Anyway, in my fantasy, both me and Faye are about 30, she's a lawyer most of the time and I'm a househusband (sometimes housedad), we're married, and in some of the fantasies we even have kids. They're really adorable. They cause the most pain when I wake up from my delusions and realize they'll never occur, that I'll never be able to see, not only Faye, but our children either, who I've played with and raised, but enough of those sad things.
What really makes me happy, though, is imagining a day far off in the future, an average day for the two of us. We'd wake up together, myself nestled into her body with one her arms protectively wrapped around me.

Note: Replace 'Faye' with 'Mark'.
@Sarah: Couldn't say anything about "good tastes" because he was referring to Spidey/Herbert. I know nothing about anime.

When you are 30, Bruno will be dead. How does that make you feel?

I think we all have tendencies to talk to ourselves. I did so when I was a kid. Growing up, it's all thoughts. I sometimes 'think' out loud. An example of this was when I was figuring out the subnet mask for a certain IP address, or how I was going to devise a WAN model using a simulator. I would literally 'talk' out all of my thoughts, though it seems like I would talk to myself, I notice I usually do that more-so around a small group of project partners, etc. I go a bit insane at times too. So many times have I broke dishes and cups due to a bad temper. I'd just throw the damn thing across my living room's wall like it was nothing. I lost count. No one's "perfect", I wasn't exactly a socially-adept with people 3 years back. I hated socializing, somewhere along the way, I changed. I still don't know how.

...i think this thread is slowly decaying into an "im sad" thread...
