What about the other legends?
#1
We have Aran and Evan. Both have something unique in them. And that's the core of it. Let's see...

Aran: Combo counter. It's basically what any fighting game has, and works well with... fighters. Masters mobbing, more than usual warriors.

Evan: That dragon. But not specially that, but also considering that it has a WIDE variety of attacks, suitable for many situations, and a smooth learning curve. Yes, it's like learning itself. And it suits the learning nature of mages. (INT, anyone?) Masters elements, more than usual mages.

Also, notice no other class overuses those things.

OK, here comes my part. I hope they consider these:

Thief: Dagger user. SPEEDSTER.
Basically, this guy would focus on running, stunning and jumping. Basically, having a speed bar, and reaching speeds of about 300%. The faster, the most powerful, with an acceleration (not 300% speed haste, though haste could improve that acceleration). Performing 2nd jumps on the air, goomba stomping enemies, rushing many of them in a rush...

It'd be an interesting class to play, not so good at bosses, yet fantastic on mobile ones.

Archer: Crossbow user. SNIPER (what, name's taken? Well, they come up with other names anyways)
This class differs from others in that you have to AIM WITH THE CURSOR. That's right, stop pressing the same key over and over, you'll need skill here. You should be able to customize where the moving keys go, though. Going with the WASD keys to move will make this class a total different gameplay. You can select particular places to attack, or evengive buffs. Would be too good if from a sniping platform, but testing can make it not hit stuff standing on a platform over you, but still hit the edges.

Pirate: Gun user. ENGINEER.
Ok, here comes the fun part. In the story, he can easily come from the Magatia of the future, Neo City, or something. Going back in time to stop the Black Magician's return, he ends up being the legendary hero of the past, or a descendant, or something. However, the most important thing would be on gameplay. He builds stuff. Simple as that. If you played the Engineer from Team Fortress 2, you'll know it better. You can build a sentry, to attack for you, static in one place. However, you need to learn how to improve it through quests and even drops. You see, this class would have a few extra equipment scrolls. BLUEPRINTS. Those affect the sentry's attack pattern and effects. Even on the looks. You'd also need a dispenser, to heal you slowly, and most importantly, give you bullets. Because you'll need plenty. You'll build your sentry and dispenser from them, and even repair them from incoming damage, because they can blow up, too. In fact, his mastery would allow him to produce bullets passively but slowly, just in case he completely runs out, and can't build anything. With many tweaks, and other buildings as you advance jobs, this can be a very interesting class, VERY effective on steady bosses.

AAAAAND that's all. I'm not really feeling like investing too much time on this, but if anyone feels like doing a skill thing out of this, feel free to.

i like the ideas, however for snipers shooting with the cursor would be incredibly complicated because, 1. you would shoot npcs xD, 2.- they would need to do a lot of coding and make a lot of changes, leading to the class being probably buggy (coughpiratescough), also im not sure if they will keep making classes until they get 5 heroes, because maplestory 2 is on the way (yes, maplestory 2 not kavatinastory, not punchmonster, no somethingplanet) and that makes me wonder... wil thye keep updating both? or just MS2? its kinda weird to think that we will have a maplestory2, we have been sticking to MS never guessing about MS2, b that was off topic.

Anyways, i like all the ideas, the pirate hero that build things could fight on a robot, that would be cool Glitter

solar, Pirates and Archers are buggy because Nexon hates them. Nothing to do with how complicated the coding is.
The issue I see with a Speedy Theif is it's intolerablity to lag. Any at all = death.
