I was wondering, I just maxed crit and full swing for 3rd job and I don't really understand why I should be maxing smart knockback before phantom. The guide I've been following is ayumilove's, but I don't see the point in maxing the snow skill yet either...>:

heres mine for 3rd job so far, 1st max fullswing, 2nd max critical, 3rd max snow charge, 4th max smart knock back, 5th combo peril ( its lvl 18 atm)

Lowering the KB requirement enough so that you KB monsters with a normal attack will help greatly towards your pot usage. Of course you can leave SKB at whatever level it does that for and max everything else (except Whirlwind), but I highly recommend you do SKB after Full and Crit.

Okay, right now, I'm training at Gallos and I have been saving my 16 SP points for 1 of 3 skills: Combo Penril, Full Swing, or Smart Knockback.
I don't see why I can't just max Combo Penril all at once. Reason being is that both Combo Smash and Penril hit 10 enemies when maxed and do the highest amount of damage at 100 combos. I would much rather have a 1 hit attack, such as Smash, that hits 10 enemies, than to have an attack that hits less enemies twice. It seems wasteful to slowly add it if you're mobbing in a place like Gallos. I don't see the point of maxing Full Swing over Penril. Yes, more damage itself, but I cannot really comprehend how much damage difference it'll be if I shove those 16 SP points in it now. I put it at 1 just for the extra hit so I can get high combos quicker. Can someone explain why I should max it over Penril or why not? Smart Knockback would be HEAVENLY for me because I can't hardly ever knockback Galloperas. >.> Bad thing about adding it is it only helps my knockbacking and not necessarily my damage. Take note that I am low-dex and I still miss Gallos quite often. But as I level, it's been getting better. Currently level 82. (Sorry for the long post, but I really need help before I screw something up)

You shouldn't even be at Galloperas at that level unless you're wearing both good accuracy and attack gear - the level difference kills a lot of your damage output. A safe level to be going would be at 86 or 87.
As for your build, maxing Full Swing changes the second Double Swing to 110% damage and the Triple swing to 350% (from 250%). That's a 100% damage increase from Triple Swing and a 110% hit on the second Double Swing. It's definitely enough of an increase damage-wise. I suggest you max Full Swing, then get at least 12 SKB heading into Galloperas. After that you can start maxing Peril - I'll update the build as I get more experienced. |
