my stomach sinks
at the thought of you

I see you now
stumbling through the thick brambles
cutting through the twisted wires
disoriented and disbelieving
running blindly in the night
freeing yourself from the confusing world that used to be
my life

you were so brave

but I was weak
and threw you to the darkness

if I could take back the world
I would
I would shout at the moon
tear out the stars
claw at the night
until the black sky shattered
and your world was once again filled
with sunlight

but this darkness seems to last an eternity
and you are so far away
that I can only sit
and watch
and pray for the dawn to come

Oh, my cheatin' heart. Written March of last year, as a response to an album my ex-boyfriend wrote about our breakup several years ago (he's an infinitely better writer than I am.) Reading Ben's old stuff made me want to post this here, haha.

God, I suck.

the imagery was great, albeit kind of fast paced and choppy. i mean i saw it playing through my head as a music video, the way it was worded.

but, since it had meaning to you, then thats all that there is to it, the meanings behind what sparked this.
