An undiscussed topic about Maker

Is everyone still forgetting the fact that you will be dying in the wallet when it comes to making this stuff?
For practically half the stuff that exists, the added bonuses on equipped items is low when compared to scrolling. So you just made a 113 att reverse weapon? That's great now that you BOMBED IT AWAY WITH A 30%!
The only place i see maker being helpful is in places where scrolls add lower amounts, ie, shoes with dex, tops with str/luk, bottom dex. It also helps when you can't add stuff by scrolling, like luk to your pants or str to your pants.
In the end, it does give a slight advantage, but the scroll risk-vs-reward system still outclasses it.

White scrolls on the other hand...

Disassembling stuff on the other hand, that's a nice effect. I would love to be walking around and "This quest needs 5 Steel plates." then just rip some random crap i found apart to finish it.

Too bad you can only get monster crystals from disassembling equipment.

What would be really nice is if you could break down graded/refined stuff back to ores. I can't tell you how many times I was like "OMG I NEED 50 SAPPHIRE ORES? BUT I HAVE 5 SAPPHIRES!!!" unfortunately, can't do that either.

For Aran though, you forge some gem with Maker when you promote to 3rd (yes, Maker is mandatory for Aran 3rd job) so maybe the ability to refine/break down into ores will come to maker eventually.

If you stocked up on ores waaay before Maker was widely known, creating armors should not be a problem, since you already have the most essential items collected. No need to buy every over-priced ore in the FM right now.

Maker allows one to get higher stat armors more easily. Weapons are going to remain relatively the same since Diamonds only have a max of 3 attack. You still have to land quite a few 30% to make the weapon godly.

Armors are where all the rage is going to be. A Red Arzuna (6/5 clean) with 2 mid grade crystals is going to have an extra 6 stats added on (9/8 clean). Slap a 30% on there and you have a 22stat 9 slot (9/13) overall. Even if you decide to 100% the whole thing, you have a 31 stat overall, which is pretty damn good to me.

Dismantling items only yields monster crystals, nothing else.

Well that sucks with disassembling...
Kinda pointless.

Armors is a good idea, but i think weapon forging is just dumb unless its reverse weapons.

I think it would also be awesome if Nexon could just let us forge our own jewels and stuff, considing you have to go back to a town to do it. =/

End result: 1000 dex crystals + 175,000,000 mesos = 35 high grade. Average cost: 28 crystals + 5000000 mesos.

Yikes. So all the Dex crystal ores I got from training thirty-something levels at Red Wyverns would come down to 5 or so high-grade crystals.

(Sorry for necropost, but couldn't resist pointing out how obscenely difficult it would be to farm to make high grade crystals.)
