Our older kitty was REALLY not happy with the new little kitten at first. She always walked real slow by her and stared at her with HUGE eyes, like she was going to kill her. It was creepy. But eventually she got more comfortable around her. The little kitten really took to her nicely and always slept on her (they still do that). They fight sometimes, but they're really really close. It's adorable! My cat Lady (4-years-old) still doesn't appreciate my youngest, Grendel (9-months-old). She's very regal and lazy; Grendel is a goof. My oldest wasn't a big fan of him in the beginning, either, but Grendel has grown on him and now they're great friends. It all depends on personality, I think. Just be sure to show each cat equal attention so none feels left out.
We got really lucky! But I wouldn't be worried. Give them time and they'll probably become best friends. Just don't force it or let them get too mean. Kitties are awesome like that.
I like really cutesy names for kitties! Like Muffin, Boots, Mittens and Fuzzbuns (hehehe)!
