District 9

Just came back from seeing it and it was fricking amazing! I loved the documentary style of the movie, it made the movie seem very real. I was surprised by the strength of the emotion in the movie, I actually felt sorry for the way the aliens were treated. Action wasn't non-stop, but there was enough so that there was never really a dull moment in the movie. The alien weapons were badass, especially the mech. There were also weapons that you would expect an alien to have, like a vaporizer! Great storyline and sick action. 9/10

Pros:

• Alien weapons (Vaporizer, sonic cannon, and mech).
  
• CGI was well done, even if it wasn't on the scale of Transformers.
  
• Great characters.
  
• Camera work was seamless.
  
• Blood and gore.
  
• Soldier getting killed by a flying pig.
  

Cons:

• Ending didn't feel right, it left me hanging
  
• Fuck seemed to be thrown around too often, but that's just me.

If you didn't pick up on it, the film is based on Apartheid in South Africa when white South Africans and black South Africans were segregated. I hope to God there is a sequel to this. There are 3 or 4 possible routes the Prawns can take. 9.5/10

Yea I picked up on that once I saw the "No Prawns" signs. I had to explain it to my sister though.... <.<
