You people are weak for thinking having 2-3 computers to play Maplestory is bad.

One WoW player controls 36 characters simultaneously

This my friend is called "multiboxing", and it's the king of playing with more than one account. There's even an entire article on the WoW wiki site on how to do it: http://www.wowwiki.com/Multiboxing

Interpretation of what WoW's ToS says about multiboxing (from the wiki site):
 Spoiler

Straight from the Blizzard members themselves that it's not against the rules:

Old news is old. Personally, if someone is dedicated enough to multibox, fine - they spent the money on the extra computer, let them use it however they like. I hate the idea of buff mules because it's a wasted character, but then so is leeching imo, and people still do that.

As soon as I saw the words W and o and W together, I stopped caring. However, you did make a good point, I've played other MMOs in which using multiple-computers to control multiple-characters was deemed as legit.

I know it's old news, but I decided to bring it up because Dusk's comment on SE/HS/HB mules made me thought of this.

You stopped caring about anything WoW-related?

This has what to do with Maplestory? That some people are that pathetic enough to buy more computers for one game? Okay.

To be honest, if you have the ability of concentration to the point where you're controlling 36 characters at once, you should GET A JOB. Working that hard at a job, you'll make like 100 grand a year.

Chinese meso farmers are not as fail as you think. Think about it, you hook up a bunch of substandard computers, (perhaps building them yourself,) establish a pattern, and just rake in the cash. From the perspective of Maple legits, this is fail, (and I can see why they think it,) but if your alternative is working at an Abecrombie and Fitch factory for 25 cents an hour, it's not that stupid.

Or he could have people pay him real world money for his services in-game. Equally profitable.

I think if you are doing that much running around, you have the energy and dedication to make it in the business world... I know people would pay money for game services, but even if you have a 24,000 dollar a year salary irl, that's 2000 dollars a month, which is pretty steep for gamers. With that much energy, I really doubt the guy would remain at 24k a year though.

'Sane' and 'MMORPGs' often do not belong in the same sentence. Goggleemoticon

We can make lame judgments about these kinds of people all day long, but at the end of the day, it's their lives, not ours. Personally I'll never hook up that many PCs to play a game, but if it's fun for them, so be it. Just enjoy YOUR life.

If I had that many PCs, I would. But I wouldn't pay $20,000 for those PCs to do so.

Playing MMORPGs 18 hours a day for years is not much of a life.
