One of the reasons Item Maker is a godsend to me

Oh crap I have over 1,000 ETC items that are eating up room faster than I can burn down pots! I don't wanna walk all the way back to Time Temple again and again!

ETC -> Monster Crystals. YAY! It's like Windraider training all over again.

Until I unlock the higher levels of Item Maker, so far for me the need to make room for ETC monster pieces is now moot, since I can now run out of pots first, instead of ETC room. It really helps with the clutter. It will also help me in the future when I can get away with clean gear that is already worth a 10% scroll or two on it.

How did Item Maker benefited you greatly?

The etc -> crystal thing would be more awesome if you could make them in bulk/way faster than that shitty bar thing.

I just wished that worked on Singapore ETCs... : \

wheres the option: maker didn't help cause i can't seem to pass the lvl 2 quest....

aside from that the sheer availability of equips is what i like the most. I had the hardest time finding a dark clarity for my priest (never did find one or a dark lorin for that matter) now all i need to do is pop in the stuff and make one myself. too bad the powders are as rare as finding the equips in the free market....

Hasn't really benefited me yet, but I plan to try using it soon. I figured everything out and successfully made a few Basic Crystals/Jewels and some Monster Crystals, but that's it.

But I'd much prefer it have a little less demand for things to be created. I barely have room in my inventory as it is, so collecting like 26 Monster Crystals (2600 ETC items) is a big pain. As is trying to make better Crystals/Jewels, considering it takes so many of each thing. 10 Basic to make 1 Intermediate, 10 Intermediate to make 1 Advanced; so basically 100 Basic to make 1 Advanced (ignoring the chance of making a higher Crystal/Jewel sometimes).

But eh, what can I do. Maybe I can finally make a decent Overall or something.

Best thing about the ETC -> Crystals thing is that you can sell the Crystals easier than selling the ETC's.

You can walk around while waiting I even do it while training (but yea I just got to press one button and wait 3 seconds and press again and repeat)

Though this might be part of the reason. Maker is one of the actual complex things in Maple to most people (-_-), and I feel like without some big questions answered it won't garner as much hype as it could. I'll start with the above:

Maker, in all honesty, has a very marginal demand for things to be created. I'll use your paragraph as an example:

1. 1. You don't actually need to hunt 2600 ETC items to get 26 Monster Crystals. Using the disassemble feature of Maker, you can take crappy equips found from monsters or in the FM and break them down into useable crystals for items within the level range. Weapons give more than armors since they require more to be made in the first place, but essentially it's extremely easy to acquire the number needed (personal example: Gold Double Knives give me between 12-20 Intermediate Monster Crystal 3's, which are used to make equips like Cravens, Nisrocks, etc. Instead of NPCing a crappy one for 500k, you can break 2-3 and have all the crystals you need for a Lv. 100 weapon/armor).
   
   
   
2. You also do NOT have to "upgrade" your Jewels using Maker to get a higher grade. In fact, probability and the economy say it's WORSE to upgrade anything from intermediate to advanced using the skill. Instead, simply buy/find/make and appraise clean Jewels using the "Basic ____" feature under Strengthen, which gives you a probability of acquiring either a Basic, Intermediate, or Advanced version of the jewel.
   

I hope that helps a little bit. When you begin to realize the little things Maker can do to help forging on almost every aspect, you see that it really doesn't take much money, time, or effort to make anything with the skill. Now forging extremely godly things with all Advanced jewels? Might be a little harder ;D.

[color="#cc8899"]120 gear, the most noteworthy thing you can get through (and currently, pretty much ONLY through maker), is impossible to obtain without hunting etcs. There are no 110-120 items readily available for breaking excepting occasional bw/axes from HT, and those rarely.

As for the etcs, yes, they save space, but they also NPC for far less when refined (from 70k per 200 to next to nothing. Only worth it money-wise if you can sell them in a shop). For stockpiling purposes, however, it is much more useful. 1-2 slots is far more convenient than 10+UH![/COLOR]

it benefited me greatly because I'm not retarded like half of Scania and knew what to buy and for what price. I had not only saved up thousands upon thousands of monster ETCs from Time Temple training, but I had well over 500~1,000 of the crystals that'll be inflating the most ready to sell on a mule. Since Maker's release, many have referred to diamonds as "overrated" seeing how they aren't selling for what everyone wants them to, but by selling off 5,000 of them early (Thanks big guy), I ensured my safety and profit within the messy market that Scania (And probably all other servers) has been in for months.

anyway tldr I could go on but all in all, I've been prepping for Maker for nearly one year now, and I've made a lot more than I thought I would.

haha i made over 1b+ from merchanting from this patch.

Breaking down and forging etcs was nice but took me forever to get rid of the 300~400 etcs/equips that i saved up -_- At least I got enough Crystals to last me for a long while and sell off the rest.

Now that it's finally out, my diamonds will rise in price even higher than before. That is, when the unrefined diamonds are all refined, my diamonds will skyrocket.

This is the reason I love maker.
I'm literally hopping all over the map farming and killing nonstop with maker grinding away in the background.

I can finally get me a decent Bow without paying an arm in the leg for one lol. At least until i get the time pieces for the reverse =P

And i can make a better overall if i have the time xD

I would have to say the best thing to me about maker is that it pretty much eliminates the dependency on the fm and other players for finding equips. The fact that they can be made to be much better is just a bonus.
