lukless priest question

can lukless priest be really strong even with crap items? strong as in be able to 1 hit ko skele?

Now why would a PRIEST be attacking skeles let alone 1hko

Depends on when you want to 1hko them.

You pretty much need Gen30 if you want to be 1hko'ing Skeles before 18x-19x, at least if you have crap equips. Gen30 is very expensive in almost all servers... 600m+ in Bera right now. And that's only a 50% chance of working. I don't think it'll stay that high for longer than a few months, but you never know when it's going to spike.

But for instance, my bishop, which has 50 LUK but is about equal to a LUKless with decent equips (Zhelm, Dep Star, decently scrolled Wisdom, 5/10 earrings, and not much else)... I typed some numbers into my personal Gen calculator and I'll 1hko Skeles about 50% of the time with level 15 Gen at level 200. With level 20 Gen (which honestly you should do as soon as you quit dying due to lack of MP at Skeles), I'd near 100% 1hko at level 200.

Good news is, as a bishop you have a pretty good ability to make money. Go farm at Harps or Wolf Spiders for the money to upgrade your equips and/or buy Gen30.

Plus, you'll really never lose money until you start using MG to train, because of Heal + MP Eater. Once your MP gets high enough and you begin to 2hko Skeles (so they can't magic attack you so much), you'll start saving lots of money training compared to when you were early in 4th job. Make yourself an HB mule to help.

EDIT: @Pomegranate: There was a level 8x priest in my Skeles party just before the SC, actually. There's a snipe spot on the bottom right. As long as you can hit them at least some of the time with Heal, it'd be decent experience. Whoever's bottoming can just sweep the mobs toward you. Apparently she leveled in about two and half hours. Obviously, it requires some nice high level friends, though. xD

It's not too far off from training at Himes at 7x; they're level 100.

Not to mention you can use the snipe spot to attack with Heal after leech level, when you're there as an HS mule. As long as your party members don't mind you aggro'ing the Skeles, it's better exp.
