A washing related question.

In HP washing, you add your AP into HP, and then take the AP out of MP and put it into your stats, correct? Well, if you didn't put any points into HP, and instead just reset your stats out of MP, couldn't you theoretically get more stats from it?

No because you can't have more stats than you've gained.

Ok, I figured something like this was in the game, or people would already be abusing it like crazy.

You can only take AP out of mp and hp if you put some into it. Thats why when hp washing you must first put points into HP and only then you can take them out of MP.
