Right. But Jesus, was ticking off people by saying what people were currently doing was immoral. Also, he considered people, such as prostitutes and lepers, to be just normal people. This made people furious.
Christianity didn't really appear on the map until the 4th century or so, if I remember correctly.

Jesus was essentially pissing off and scaring everybody besides his followers. The people called him the Messiah, and he was generally regarded to be a liberator of the Jews.

When Jesus was sent to trial, the Pharisees rioted the Jews up into a mob. Before, they never really had anything against Jesus.

And he had laser toes. They were pretty damn scary.
