My browser won't load some websites :(
#1
So heres the situation :
I start up firefox ( the old one ) and websites load...but even if I was to wait 20 minutes it wouldn't load up. such as going to google is perfectly fine, but searching something isn't >.>

So I downloaded firefox 3 and everything could load fast. And it's already happening again, I tried reinstalling Firefox but its still happening =T

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

( Hell, even a way to stop this would help ! )

Does this problem happen in IE as well? Do you have any addons installed for either version of Firefox?

Yes in fact it has happened in IE as well.

Well in the old Firefox its had the google toolbar.
Firefox three has no add-ons as far as I know.

Mmm. Is it only specific sites that it doesn't load? Or overall / a majority? (I know you said some, but that's not really that descriptive)

Could possibly be spyware. Have you done any scans recently?

Well, aside from google's search that has a loading problem, http://www.onemanga.com is the only one :p

And I've just scanned it in fact, and deleted a bunch of cookies.

Off topic : avg 8.0 free is considered both an anti-spyware and anti virus, right?

Sounds like a DNS problem to me. I could be wrong though. *shrug*

Try OpenDNS and see if it helps any.

Mm. I'm not sure about AVG 8.0. I've never used it. I don't think it does, since on the website it only says "Excellent Virus Protection"

I recommend Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy as good spyware removal programs.

Try clearing your cache out and deleting cookies from the sites / making sure cookies are allowed.

Google search not loading doesn't sound too good... do you ever get popups about your system deteriorating and having to get a program?

Edit: If DNS is the problem, you could try doing Start -> Run -> cmd -> ipconfig /flushdns

Yeah, that's... not good at all...

That sounds like Vundo.

I can't really help with removing it, I suggest going to a different forum... they'd be able to help more, if this is the cause. (I used Tech Support Forum when my sister fucked with my computer a year or so back)

Edit: I find it odd that AVG didn't find / notice this though? Maybe its something else.

Well right now I'm going to try that DNS link Ardinea gave me, afterwards if that doesn't solve anything I'll try out a anti-spyware then I'll try the tech support forum. Thanks!1

Go to speakeasy.net and test your internet connection speed using both your browsers. Also, if you use ZoneAlarm, there's been a patch to it that's making it unstable with connecting to the internet.

The ZoneAlarm conflict only happens if you don't have the up to date version, and it completely blocks internet access, he wouldn't be able to see anything, much less this forum if he had it.
