Actually most models and actors are anorexic or bulimic and they have to spend a huge amount of time taking care of their bodies. I knew some girl that tried modeling at the age of 17, she was 10lb underweight, and the modeling agency told her to LOSE 20 more pounds. She refused, so they said she'd be a "plus size model." At 10lb underweight she was considered TOO FAT. There's also a ton of bullpomegranate and backstabbing involved in the career progression, so trust me, being a model or actor/actress is not a cakewalk. That said, the vast majority of them are full of themselves cause they're too hot for us "normal people."

As far as them being past their prime at the age of 40, that is seriously inaccurate. If you look at the biographies of major, established models and actors/actresses, (http://www.imbd.com is perfect for this,) you will find that a LOT of them are 40+. The magic of makeup artists is that they can take a person that looks pretty bad, (simply due to age,) and make them look PERFECT. Go pick up a tabloid; the papparazzi catch the models and actors without their make-up on. Yes, they are the same people, but we're used to seeing them all perfect, and as normal people they look repulsive to us.

Why is that so? Well, let's say John Travolta makes it as an actor at the age of 18 (or whenever he started acting) and becomes a world celebrity. He continues working in Hollywood, his body is steadily deteiorating as is normal with age. He reaches 40. Will they replace John Travolta, or simply spend 2 hours before the shooting session making all his wrinkles invisible? Even someone that's REALLY old can continue working. Sean Connery starred as young suave James Bond a long time ago, now he's an old man, still working in Hollywood just fine.

Heart He was so hot in The O.C. & Never Back Down. The long hair in Twilight turned me off, however.
