well still, it really took as long as Ariant's one, MAYBE IT ENDED 5 MINUTES EARLY, but still as long as Ariant's Maintenance

Did you guys pre-patch?

I prepatched and then updated the MapleStory.exe file as specified here: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php...ost1205854 and the game came right up.

Confirming what happened to Sapta. I pre-patched, and did the MapleStory.exe thing they posted about, game opened right away.

I did the same and still had to redownload the full 1gb patch file.

..and base.wz failed on my backup. ffffffffuuuuuuuu

Didn't prepatch but still having a bad feeling that the patcher fails and I gotta redownload it all.

If you guys pre patched, and are downloading the whole patch over again, your base.wz is going to get corrupted.

[Complete 12:35 PM] The game update is complete, and Cash items in your inventories have been extended. Please see this post for patching and installation instructions, especially regarding how to fix a particular bug that occurs if you used a manual patcher that we released before 11 PM Pacific on 12/4.

[Update 9:10 PM] Due to the patcher issues earlier, we're checking the patchers again to see if there are any compatibility issues with going through the minor patch afterward.

[Update 7:10 PM] A minor patch will be included to fix the issues mentioned a few more urgent ones that were found.

[Update 4:00 PM] We are working on the fixes for the previously mentioned bugs. We will also be blocking Root Abyss temporarily while we work on a fix for a bug with it that causes a channel crash.

[Update 1:30 PM] We are also currently looking into a bug that caused some accounts to be tradeblocked during the update.

[Update 12:25 PM] We are currently working to fix a login bug with the merged worlds.

[Update 11:25 AM] The manual patcher is ready for players who already have v.142 installed. It can be downloaded here, where you can also find instructions on how to use it.

[Update 10:16 AM] We've been experiencing errors while building the client patchers. Our engineers are working to fix these issues.

[Update] The maintenance has been extended. Please check back for updates.

Don't know about anyone else but I used the first manual patch they uploaded and the .exe file they just gave us and I'm in already.

After all that time and careful adherence to all the rules and guidance put forth, I still have something broken in my client. Bad image...whatever. Rather than patching, if your internet speeds allow it, I recommend just downloading the entire client over. Patching from a backup or any previous version takes a significantly longer time than just downloading it over again and performing a clean install.

I was very tempted to uninstall and leave it like that, but didn't. Be aware Nexon, that if you keep doing dumb things like this, one of these days people might very well forego the trouble and not reinstall. And I'm not talking about the downtime, that is understandable-ish. Having half-a-dozen instances where an update might cause someone to reinstall is just not cutting it, even with your notices of additional .exe put up. Leave everything off the table until everything works.

Also, there's got to be some way of streamlining installation or patching, installation in particular. You can't expect a new customer to have to spend so much time just to get through to play your game, you'll lose them at the entrance.

Never have I had such pineappling trouble of patching ever. This is just beyond stupid
