Instant Messaging Clients

Lets you use one client for multiple IM accounts (Yahoo/Skype/formerly MSN/AIM/many many others) and you can talk to people regardless of what they use, and it's very handy. Very nice layout that isn't in the way too.

But I don't really talk to more than like 3 people anyway. Rolleyes

+1 for Trillian. Downloaded it earlier today.

I like the customization of it, but I've been having some issues with display pictures showing properly. People who have email addresses with @live.com instead of @hotmail.com are showing up as online in Skype, but not Trillian. I'm sure I'll figure it out, though.

I only ever use Skype, because it usually is what my friends is using. I've been using Skype for a very long time, but I have my qualms with it. One main issue I have with Skype is that I cannot leave messages while friends are offline, and once those friends do come online, they're spammed by my past messages all at once. It's quite frustrating to be honest. If Skype could implement some sort of offline message system, where the messages are stored in the server instead of the client that would be fantastic.

The audio/video chatting is alright. Compared to other services such as gchat, it's the best you can get right now. I'm hoping that'll change sometime in the future. Better optimization and perhaps some general upgrades here and there would make Skype the best messager.
