They did this last time with a different event that gave Cash Shop items too.

My take on this:

If it's intended as a Charm-for-meso meso sink, it's very sneaky. Could have just put Perfume in an NPC shop somewhere. It's more likely unintended.
The damage from "abusing" this is minor: pocket items don't have the kinds of stats that would give someone a big advantage. The perma cash shop faces might be hurting Nexon's pocket, but I doubt faces make up any significant fraction of their earnings.

So, in light of that, and the much more serious problems MapleStory is going through this Anniversary, Nexon could react in one of two ways:
1) Ignore it,
or
2) React with disproportionate severity, taking out their rage and frustration over the hacks and crashes on the easy-to-find people "abusing every little nice thing we try to do for you".

Personally, I'm not taking the risk.

I doubt it's even a 3% improvement on your range. So if you had 10k range without a pocket, you could go up to 10,300k with pocket (assuming you could get the 5all, 4att pocket item). That's not likely to change much in your training speed or bossing ability.
