Logging in from Gamelauncher.exe with newly created accounts

Someone told me recently that newly made accounts are forced to register by email, and that accounts registered by email can't login through Gamelauncher.exe (Those accounts are forced to login through the website). Is this true? I havn't made a new one in a while.

It is not.

Nope. I made a few accounts a couple weeks ago for the Positive Chaos Scroll Hot Times and I was able to log in using GameLauncher with them.

Accounts identified by e-mail do seem to get a higher incidence of the "problems logging in?" thing for me, but they do work from GameLauncher.
