A side-effect from my stint to sea:

Maping Wrote:I don't know where you've been shopping, but I've seen starter decks (60 card deck and two boosters) for $15 and boosters for like, $7 at Target.

I currently play with a Green/White populate deck and a Black/Red deck.

You might've missed that I said competitve, and spending on boosters is a bet.
Also 1. I don't live in the US. 2. I don't know if starter decks are good now, but if I were to spend I'd try to get something competitive.

Last couple fnms I played one or two years ago, I'd top 4.
I even remember winning one of the promo cards, but one judge said that I couldn't win boosters and the promo, so I was forced to give the promo back and some friend of the judge got it. He was fired, a long with almost every other judge, because they were stealing stuff. The girl who was administrating the place was also fired for failing to kick all the people that were stealing stuff.
It's funny how they changed the administrators but they keep on failing. Fnms are rather lonely, only 8-20 people play, because the prices are stupid (3boosters for top 1&2) and it's rather expensive to enter.

Yea, I play though I havn't been playing as much as of late.

I mainly just play EDH and cube, though sometimes I brush off the legacy deck if I have someone to fight.

Cube? Never heard of that format. I've been working slowly on putting an EDH deck together, but only 1 of the people on the ship that I play with plays EDH. Some have shown some interest, but by and large not many people are interested.

Zelkova Wrote:Green was better in older blocks. I havn't played too much with Return to Ravnica, but from what I understand.... a green/white set can whoop some ass if you populate and have soldier tokens. That + http://www.cardkingdom.com/catalog/item/187470

I can confirm this. Green + White RtR Set whoops ass.

Cube can be thought of a set that you put together yourself. someone carefully constructs a stack a couple hundred cards that people will then draft as if it was a normal set. Surprising you haven't heard of it since it's picked up massive popularity over the past year or so.

I only started playing after I had been on the boat, and a short while before deployment.
Plus, I don't go to any gatherings with other random people, just mostly people I know from the boat.
