Best Gunslinger build?
#1
Since people are getting ready for the release of pirates (and conveniently a pirate tread) Id thought Id ask whats the best optimized build for a gunslinger.

I know that a Gunslingers main stat is DEX and secondary is STR (like bowmen)

and considering equipments that are available, likely builds are:

Normal build
Dex: high as possible
Str: Just enough to wear pirate gear
equipments
Armor: all armor are scrolled for DEX (hat/cape/shoes/overall/bottoms/face/eye/earring), atk gloves, pendent
Weapon: normal weapon with according str req.

Low-STR build
Dex: high as possible
Str: low as possible but not 4
Armor: all armor are scrolled for STR (top/overall/cape) and Dex for the rest (bottom/face/eye/shoes/hat/earring) atk glove, pendent
Weapon: normal weapon with according str req. (limited)

Pure Dex/Strless build
Dex high as possible
Str: 4
Armor: all armor are scrolled for DEX (using sauna,FS,SS, Etc) (hat/cape/shoes/overall/bottoms/face/eye/earring), atk gloves, pendent
Weapon: a Gun that doesnt require STR (maple weapons, gacha)
(no pirate maple weapons are available as of now)

out of the above 3, which would be the most optimized build?

In the long run, Normal STR should be the best with the least cost. If you do Low-STR, you'll constantly have to adjust your base STR as you upgrade your Overall and Cape whereas scrolling for DEX allows you to have a set base that you never have to change due to gear. STR-less fails for the same reason it fails for Bowmen.

EDIT: Although I did say normal-STR, the prudent person would still plan on getting a zhelm and HT/Deputy pendant and allocate STR so that they can wear their desired weapon only with those equips. Adding enough STR to wear the high-level stuff without those items is just stupid.

That's a skill build.

Just get the cheapest highest combination of DEX+STR on your equips, and adjust your STR accordingly. To do that without a bunch of resets means you pretty much have to nab your equips beforehand, or else save 10-15 points before an equip change level in case you unexpectedly need more STR.

Same as archers. Keeping your STR about 40 below the required STR for your weapon would probably be the best idea.
