Skullcandy Headphones
#1
[Not sure if this thread belongs here. If not, sorry.]

I was having a conversation about Christmas presents for a close friend and my other friend mentioned something about SkullCandy headphones. The last time I saw them was when one of my guy friends was sporting them and I thought they were pretty nifty and cool.

So I go on the official website for Skullcandy, and I look at the designs. I'm impressed at some of them, but then I look at the price tag and cry.

There are plenty of cheaper ones on ebay and I was planning to spend some of my money on one (I haven't really bought myself anything with my birthday money. Saved up a bunch and bought some birthday gifts/wrapping materials.) But I was just wondering if they're really worth the money and if the quality's good if anyone's used it.

I heard the quality was pretty shitty for the price.

I can't really give you the quality:money ratio on it, because I got my first pair for free.. but the quality on them is AMAZING.

Not sure if it's good for the prices though.

skull candy headphones are really really crap. lol. The basic ones sell for about $20. Not a recommended brand. Trust me, I own a pair.

A friend of mine had a pair, granted they look cool, but you can get the same sound quality with a pair that you buy for 20 bucks or so. I've just been using recording studio headphones from Guitar Center.. yes, I'm a snot in music quality.

Are you just talking about the earbuds? If so im not fond of the earbuds, but I got these

http://www.amazon.com/Skull-Candy-Lowrid...B000WEHWKK

and im loving them, once side snapped due to my own stupidity but it was easily fixed, anyways they're comfortable and the folding it quite convenient. Sound quality is good too, bought them on sale for like 25$~30$

I have those exact ones, except mine are gold instead of silver. The quality is good, but they break easily. Mine is still in heavy use, thanks to the wonders of tape.

I've had these for around a year now, and they still sound as good as the day I bought them. Which is amazing since I listen to loud music a lot.

I found the cheapest ones for $10 at Target, and they work great....

I was planning to get the lowrider series, but I wasn't sure if they were decent or not. (Considering that they're a lot cheaper than the other series I want.) But thank you guys for your input. Smile

The quality is AMAZING. I have a pair of 50$ ones that emit a 'white noise' that cancels out outside sounds, while giving better sound from your iPod than conventionial headphones.

(I'm talking about the little ones you put in your ear, I've never had the big kind)

So we're comparing qualities...

Exactly, what other headphones are being compared to skullcandy earbuds/headphones? eg. Sony, JVC etc.

Personally, I'm stubbornly sticking to my creative EP-830 earbuds.
