I still don't know how this could be true..if they can scratch the cards without paying for them they're stealing from 3 companies.

whether there is a connection to KKKards or not......

i've always wondered how these things worked, maybe it's time to hit wikipedia.

real hackers can do pretty much anything...

most of maples "hackers" are just cheating script kiddies. the ones who write what the script kiddies use never release everything to public. ....and thats about the extent of my knowledge.

As far as I know, without activation, it's just a piece of plastic. I don't see how they can do that at all..

They can go to jail for stealing though.

Looking at his post, he was saying to steal from the store. But up to there you have to hack to register a card WITHOUT a store to do so.

well that clears it up, the way it was worded reminds me of kids calling them selves hackers for using some pre-made scripts.

if the retailer prosecutes. the cards are small and cheap enough that the thefts may go unnoticed. the only thing the store loses on is stock for real buyers because the cards have no value unactivated. that's supposed to be a deterrent.

what happens when its no longer a deterrent? either put the cards behind glass cases and annoy the hell out of customers and retailers, or outsource a share of the profits to someone who cares about security (since nexon obviously doesnt).

I can't tell you how many times I've walked to Block Buster and they only had 25 dollar cards. >Sad

My card is quite flexible as it is.

By the way guys, these cards work because the Block Buster server or whatever sends a request to Nexon to allow the code to give X amount of NX when activated. o-O You would have to hack a retailer's server or whatever to be able to activate the cards if you stole one. These things are the easiest things to steal. In my blockbuster they have them at the very back of the store.

Ah, one time I gave my friend Kendall one of my used NX cards and he took it to a gun range.

The thefts if small enough(less then 5 or so cards), probably do go unnoticed. The Retailer doesn't gain much from selling the cards themselves, they undoubtedly get less then a few cents per card sold. The reason they carry them is because its mutually beneficial, the overhead on the cards is nothing and people come in to buy a popular item. I could go into possible ways the "hacker" can activate the cards at home, none of which are really "hacking".
