What are most archmages using as their
#1
end game equipment (excluding. weapon which I already know).

I know now there is a benefit of being as magic attack is much more beneficial than INT, so what are most ppl able to get their luck to and what equips are they using?

Any insight would be great. I am luckless from pre-BB days, and haven't been back on this game in a long time.

I'm not an A/M, but I think I have a general idea.
First of all, most people of any job nowadays are statless, since getting enough secondary stat to equip a endgame weapon is relatively easy. For mages however, you might have to increase your luk to 25-35 in order to equip an ele staff 7/8(requires 168 LUK). However if you are planning to use an elewand(130 ones) as endgame, 4 base should be fine
Right now, it's all about potentials, and %int should be your Number one priority. While Matt is more useful than it was pre bb, once you have an average/slightly above avg amount of magic att, it's the %int that will contribute to your damage. %INT is the cheapest of all the stats, but can still be very expensive, You're looking at 1.5bil per 15% int equip. Remember, if aren't too rich, it's better to have 4-5 6% int equips that you can get for 300mish each, than one 15% equip that cost all your money. If you look around fm, especially with the new crafting system, you can find some cheap 6-12% int items, since most people sell them very cheap. As for magic att, I would start focusing on magic att equips once you have a above average amount of % int(60-75%). Again, I'm not a Mage, and I'm basing this off my general knowledge rather than specific circumstance.

For best results..combine high mattk gear with high % int statsBig Grin Fairly expensive though this way but brings the best results possible and you should attempt this when you are a higher level with a good amount of %int anyways. Blades pretty much nailed it so can't really say much.. The end-game of your dreams should be the ele staff 5-8 depending on your elemental bonuses. You can easily make one with 230-250mattk. 270mattk or more if scrolled really well/above avg when doing so. These are fairly expensive..160-200k NX which equals to about 6.4b or higher depending on nx to meso ratio. If you can't afford the ele staff, elewand is your best choice and there's a few godly ones around now thanks to GM Scrolls*180+mattk* Would be wise to nag one of those/make one if you have enough for itWink

I know very few LUKless mages now, most are low LUK if anything because everyone's got a tier 3 overall and stuff for the most %INT.
What matters is what OP's able to afford.

Wall o text:
For most of the equips that are just armor, you're going to want to aim for %INT. I've been told that for your weapon %MATK works out better, but since there's enough different things you can get on your weapon that changes what kind of damage you do that's really down to personal preference now. Around Bera right now most of the mages I see are running around with a reverse/timeless overall, czak/targa [or reg zak hat if you're lazy like me], and 90+ gloves and shoe. That way you can cube it for the best stats, since 3x6%INT is way better than 3x3%INT off a bathrobe. Since you said you played before BB I'm going to blindly assume you're familiar with the elemental weapons and probably have one even if it's a lower level - that's definetly the thing to stick with, far better than any of the standard weapons for a A/M.
In terms of getting the LUK, if you're gonna try to stay as low as possible, I'd say get one of the hats scrolled for LUK [maybe with %LUK if it helps more, up to you] and a HTP if you can. That should knock out...27+however good a scrolled hat you can get, I've seen ranging 25-3x for the hats so you can get around 50LUK knocked out just from that. I'm blanking on if there's shield LUK scrolls, that would be another thing you can do [somehow I don't think these exist though, I can't remember]. Obviously remember that you can substitute around equips as necessary.

As for the veins: http://www.southperry.net/showthread.php?t=46254

Remember to try and get a shield with good Matk. Also, a level 90 magician shoes can have 0-2 matk, try to chaos it to have a little more before giving it potential.

tier 3 overall requires like 83 luk.
Czak+HTP+2 BB rings would already put you at 65 LUK, so it would be far better to go luckless and equip a lvl 80-90 robe than to waste points in luck on a reverse/timeless robe that is only minutely better in stats.
Also, I don't know how rich you are, but if you are very very rich, you can get stirgeman pants and android top for the most possible lines of potential. It's kinda hard to give tips without knowing your level of funding.

thanks for the advice. I actually don't have any money.

I have a elewand 7 and 8
currently wearing starlight overalls from pre BB days,
43 luk or so
normal 1 egged HT pendent
zak helm
90M mesos
14K NX

Yeah thats about it.

For best %INT you want a 78+ overall. the zak helm can give decent %stats but it's 2/4/6 not 3/6/9, so only sort of good. The 90m may not get you too far depending on the server either, so it'll be hard to upgrade for a bit. Though, if the NX is prepaid/MTS NX, you can "sell" it for decent money...for example Bera's 1k:45m. It may take a while though.
