Controller not working properly with MapleStory only
#1
I am very confused with this. I've uninstalled and reinstalled both MapleStory and my controller's device software dozens of times and I still get the same effect.

When I use my controller in Maple, my character walks non-stop to the right. I then disable my joy sticks and my player stops. I press left on my directional pad and my character ducks down. No other directions do anything. All of my other buttons work 100% fine.

I thought it was a problem with my controller, but that can't be the case, because I went to my device's settings and playing around with the allignment and whatnot with the directional pad and the joy sticks yielded 100% correct results; pressing left goes left, pressing right goes right, pressing up goes up, and presssing down goes down.

I really do not understand why it's not working properly only with Maple. :| It works fine on my other computer (though I can't even use that computer because it shuts itself off every 5 seconds), but on this one, it screws up with MapleStory only.

Does any one have any ideas why this is the case?

Edit : Never mind! I figured out how to fix this issue. :X

Great! Can you post the fix so anyone else that has the problem can fix it as well?

(I'm guessing you were using joy2key... I recommend using xpadder.)

I use neither. I use the program that came with my controller.

I reinstalled it about 50 times before the thing finally realized it was installing itself incorrectly and then asked me to reinstall it the correct way. ._.

But now it's giving me BSoDs, so... =/

I'd recommend using xpadder or joy2key. I have yet to have the software that comes with a controller function as well as those two have.

I needed to run Joy2Key in administrator mode before it worked in maple (Win7 Professional 64bit SP1)

Also keep in mind that some controllers have annoying deadzones(COUGHXBOX360COUGH) where the analog stick won't reset all the way to axis 0(resulting in you always going left or right). To fix that in most cases just increase the deadzone in whatever controller program you're using.
