I was aware of it too. I just think it's stupid that they would use a zombie theme to do it.

And I get that both of you guys are F6ing at the so called "stupidity" behind this brilliant idea, but what you're forgetting is that you're much more intelligent than the average American citizen. When you think of something mainstream, you need to think of the audience is geared towards. This particular PSA is for the average citizen who is smart enough to read through it all and grasp some basic safety tips (the ultimate point of the post in the first place, of course), as well as enjoy the context said information is presented by relating to the theme of zombie apocalypses they surely recognize from mainstream hit horror films like 28 Days Later, The Crazies, Resident Evil, etc.

B+ to awareness in general reasoning and justification. A+ for awareness and recognition in understanding why said reasoning/justification is used and is effective.
