My most recent paper for my writing class, The Evolution of American Thought (It's basically just my prof being absurd, ranting, and trying to disillusion all of us), I had to 'analyze and discuss' the processes of gender socialization.
Now, I have nothing to say on this topic. I don't have a big enough problem with today's standard of manly or womanly to babble on about it in a paper, or how children reach whatever they consider masculine or feminine.
So I had a peach of a time coming up with a thesis, and eventually decided on one I could bullpomegranate through with. But, to make the paper more tolerable to write, I take a suggestion from my roomie's friend Emma and slipped in a good amount of innuendo in the form of adjective and verb choice, metaphors, and stuff like that.
tl;dr Start here Do you ever do stuff like this in your writing? If not, wanna try it on whatever paper you may have to write soon and share?
The topic of gender identity leads to all sorts of BDSM references thanks to the traditional view of dominant men and submissive women, so I rolled with that.
A few of what I consider highlights in my paper:
"...help expand the American rights of equality and security to the gender persecuted as they come in to the fold of societal acceptance."
My roommate is dying for me to use a different spelling on that one. >.>
"...pain is the sadistic currency used in man-to-man transactions."
Again, my roommate wants some change here. Can you guess where?
"So what system ties, binds, and chains boys and girls into these dominant and submissive roles?"
"Submission is sold in bulk to girls in the same way boys are force-fed dominance. In order to gag competition, strategy, and the traits that help lead men to success, girls are blindfolded by products pushing frivolity, consumerism, and other mindless dribble"
"The process will take more than a single generation and may start off as a hairy path to explore."
Some choice individual words and phrases: engorge, stiffly, penis, cup size, skank, papaya, inserting, "ride on his success", assault, thrust, stretching
