I was going to update you guys earlier, but I've been putting it off 
So I finished my speech in its entirety at around 3pm, which is exactly when the class starts. It takes a little over half hour to get to school, so I was hoping to get there before class ends. I decided to park in a further away parking lot, because it was closer to a place that I knew had a printer, and I had some things to print. I got parking quickly, ran over to the computer, put in my flash drive, and printed the things I needed by about 3:45 (class ends at 4:15). I ran as quickly as I could for as long as I could (which it turns out is about a block while wearing a backpack and a winter coat.) I decided to cut through a warm building to catch my breath and take a slightly more direct route. While I was in said building I checked the time and made sure I had everything, and that's when I realized I had left my flash drive (which had my vital PowerPoint on it) back in the computer I had just used. Unfortunately, this cost me more time than I could afford, and I didn't arrive at class until 4:12.
However, I did explain the entirety of this story to the teacher and showed her all the things I had done to prove it. She let me give it the following class day (Wednesday) because I had a good record in class otherwise. O'course, if it happens again I'm SoL.
The speech itself wasn't bad though. I visited the Speaker's Lab for some practice, so I wasn't all that nervous. Also, she records all of our speeches on the flash drive we bring in and has us watch them later for self-evaluations. I think I'll hang on to the video.
