Update (09/19/08): We just want to let you know that we are still there and the situation hasn't changed very much during the last two months. Our lawyers are currently waiting for access to the records which may still take some time. We will update you with more information as soon as possible, so check back once in a while. Thank you for your support.
As you probably noticed the OdinMS blog has been down since July 21st 2008. The reason for this is that all our computers, including servers, have been confiscated by the public prosecutor's office of Saarbrücken.
Please understand that on our lawyers' advice we can't go into too much detail here. We will try to keep you informed about the proceedings as much as possible.
Since the lawsuits ahead of us will cause us a lot of financial trouble we decided to accept donations. Please note that like always you won't get any compensation for your donations. They will be used to cover the expenses of traveling, consultations with lawyers and similar. They won't be used to pay any fines or the like.
If you decide to donate you can do so below. After choosing the currency you will be redirected to PayPal and prompted for your desired amount.
Wow. Absolutely no progress at all between the middle of July and the middle of September. 2 whole months? I'm really starting to think Nexon wasn't serious or anything and now they're just tieing them up in legal affairs to try and strike fear into other private servers or something. :/
This forum made the most sense to post it in since they DID post an update that they're alive. :X Didn't seem like it was news-worthy enough to go into General or even Amherst.

That's how nexon rolls. Slow as Valve, without the awesome games/content.

It's not Nexon's fault things are slow. Court systems are naturally slow by nature.

It's all about the court system. I am also assuming that this happened in another country, the international aspect could be an issue as well. People can only go as fast as courts/lawyers/circumstances allow.

I know, but still. You'd think if a big game company is going to sue a couple of people that they wouldn't waste 2 months dealing with it.
Meh.

Well hopefully for the sake of everyone involved, they speed things up a bit. I'm sure it's no fun waiting for this to end.

Meh.
Getting Odin to stop what they were doing was most of what Nexon wanted. Granting an injunction or remedy is icing on the cake.

Yep, I figured. It's like having police get real tough on some kind of new small crime for a week or two to scare people from doing it. :X

The slow speed has to do with how the German Law system works. Instead of having and option to abandon and close useless sueings, in Germany all cases have to come to court (Even the ones with "My neighbour terrorrist stepped on my toe and now im scared"...).
In (most) other countries there is a possibility to cancel these useless cases to speed up the legal system. But in Germany this is not possible...
It might take a few more months before -ANYTHING- starts.... Kinda retarded... but yeah... w/e...
I think Nexon hoped to get all OdinMS players back to gMS... But instead of that, there are even more pservers then before OdinMS...
Well, we'll just have to wait for our German Law friends a bit more I guess...

It should Saarbrücken. But yeah, I've heard about German Law and its sludge like speed of resolving cases. Not necessarily a bad thing; gives everyone time to be anxious.

An ultra slow legal system is the worst thing possible... Leaving people in the dark means leaving the whole country in the state of confusion. People don't know the legal state of certain things.
It's really bad for the economy too... Imagine a slow proces when you're talking about a 10 billion case... In the time the process will end, the 10 billion subject might have deflated to 7 billion in worth... That's just 3 milllion down the drain due to a slow legal system!
No thank you, I prefer to speed things up a little...
