I did not buy them (I have NEVER bought them). Just because I choose to work on Zakum or other bosses instead of work on training... that really shouldn't affect anything, IMO. You were banned for leeching off of....Bigfoot? Then you deserve that ban. If you were banned for leeching exp off of people at bosses or training (not really sure what you mean), then I frown upon your actions, but that definitely doesn't merit a ban.

The community needs answers. When none are given by Nexon themselves, there is no choice but to assume things. I hope they realize this someday.

At least, we know that Hime read it.
Who knows, maybe reading all those posts (with intelligent content) NEXON will really do something to improve..

I don't understand why he was banned until the 25th. Once I figured out that BigFoot could be webbed I hunted him nonstop until the server check, going from lvl 88 to 102. The only thing that prevented me from getting any higher was the inability to find more Big Foots. The F/P mages, jainz is probably banned for a year, kept Mardia big foot clean 24/7. If I could find one big foot per hour of constant searching I considered myself lucky.
To only get a 10 day ban was very surprising to me, I would have EASILY accepted a 2 month ban for the 14 levels I gained off of Big Foot.
On the topic of banning for the Big Foot Glitch in the first place. Nexon banned around a thousand players. Hardly a dip in the bucket compared to how many players there are overall. It was a one time glitch that didn't affect the overall game too much UNLESS you take into consideration the new server Yellonde. I am sure some employee at Nexon/Wizet got roasted for being completely inept in allowing the new server to be completely undermined. This anger and embarrassment carried over to the player base and caused the bannings. Orbis PQ glitch lasted for a long long time and I to this day have never heard of one player being banned for it. Sure there were rumors of it on the internet, but that was about all it was. Lvl 51 to 71 took about a week if you were lazy and tens of thousands of players took advantage of that glitch.
Nexon got embarrassed, their new server got embarrassed, people got banned. This guy that posted the "inappropriate assumptions" hit so many nails on the head that Nexons embarrassment over the situation led to his banning also.

I really wish they would hire someone from these forums (or another big-name one) just to deal with customer relations who really knows how to help people. Heck, the thing could be completely online between the company and the person. At least it might bring some hope to the situation. <_<
Anyone think Nexon should seek out figures within the forums to get the players' opinions/advice on situations/and so on? I really wouldn't be surprised if they have read threads in the past on various forums.

As a reply: No, I've not touched a bigfoot since the day of release, where I attempted to attack [legit] and got horribly slaughtered.
So no, I really don't see the reason of my banning, or that of others.

@Leaves - That was my guess, but your post was a bit misleading. I figured you just meant overall leeching by paying for services with your own mesos earned in w/e method that was legit.

Kicker: a guildie of mine was banned and has never seen bigfoot much less fought/hit it.
Anyways, this post needs to be read by everyone on maple, because if you cant manage to see the truth in it, something is wrong with you.
I heard Nexon got their low rating with the BBB reversed. Someone needs to send this to them, as well as a long-winded explanation (remember, the BBB doesnt know what the pineapple maplestory is).
However, nexon is a business. A corporation. Ive stated this before on SW, and either no one responded, or i was shot down on it. However, NEXON is a business. Businesses need to make money. A business with negative profit will go under, and close its doors.
Most businesses to stay profitable have to have good PR, good customer support, and be in touch with their consumer. They need to constantly innovate, rethink, recreate, and place incentives for consumers to consume their product.
Nexon however has an advantage that 99% of other businesses have. They have addiction, and tweens on their side, or rather in their pocket. Many of us are hopelessly addicted to maple (even i still buy NX and would really rather not), and the tweens/young teens that play have little to no concept of money. To them 200 dollars on gach is just something they get from their parents. When its gone, they go beg for more and get it because their parents want them to be happy.
Basically what that means is as long as they market toward the right crowds (younger people. think of the curse filter thats on maple, so many of those things are just bogus to censor), and as long as they have us addicted to it, they can do whatever the HELL they want to, and get away with it, because they will still make money.
Until they dont make money, they wont change. Im failing at finding an analogy right now, but basically maple has a monopoly. Sure theres other MMOs, but none quite as popular, and as utterly social-based as maple.

LOL I love it.
I think Hime's response - to leave the post on the forums and suspend the poster - is pure genius.
It's the clearest, most concise way to say
Quote:You're perfectly right. Our "customer service" works against the customers and not with them. And guess what? We have no intention of changing that! We provide the game you're addicted to, so we own you. We don't need to invest a single cent in friendly customer service people, or software for documenting infringements, or anything you suggested. Because you will take whatever we dish out and keep giving us your time and money.
We apologize for the inconvenience

What I think is they don't keep very many records of things that happen on maple. For example when the guild hack situation happened nothing was done, probably because they don't keep backups of most things. They probably have no way to figure out who killed bigfoots and who didn't so used the easiest (most thoughtless) action they could do and banned according to how fast people leveled over the certain period of time bigfoot was "glitched". Thats my guess.

I sometimes wonder how much of a contingency plan they have in the event of an erratic electrical storm or disgruntled mapler bringing in an EMP...
Then again, the likelihood is so low... but still, they seem like the kind of people who would not even have backups of the server data in a remote facility despite the millions of dollars dependent on it.
Only reason I thought of this is because in many flaming threads, people claim they'll bomb the pineapple out of NEXON HQ, but that is just plain unlikely. I guess the same could be said of someone smart enough to build an illegal device actually playing maple, but at least there would be less hesitation for the aggravated individual assuming mild sanity remains.
Anyway, back on topic, if there is something I think I know about security and contingency plans, it is backup/logs; which NEXON seemingly has none of. In the coding projects I have participated in, I always have an output to make sure things are happening at all points in the program while making it. If something flubs up, the output I set points me in the right direction to fix it. Without things like logs to lookup, they are basically blind in the event of an emergency; which really shows. They should really start to learn to calculate Murphy's Law into things they do. I certainly have.

You can't tell what they have if you don't work there. end of story.

I know that the US government has Nukes, and i dont work there.
You can base assumptions off of past results.
I think nexon does have logs (they can rollback afterall) but how secure those logs are, and how easy it is to implement individual "roll-backs" is questionable, as well as how easily they can find (as the previous poster said) "flub ups"

they did hire a guy from SW a while back his name was attraxia or something along those lines, I just remember his avatar was a little blonde dude with greenish blue eyes or something wearing a hat, but seeing as they haven't changed for a bit I gota say I'm glad I'm on hiatus as well, I guess I keep checking this forum to see if maple will eventually get better but I guess thats a cold day in hell away

maybe this is just my opinion, but the pits of hell are there for a reason. this topic, though incredibly credible and legitimate is ultimately just being flame spammed. i agree, nexons not the best out there and i am by no means a fan boy, but most of the posts here are pretty much post count enhancing flames. there are a few notable exceptions where the post is actually of worth, but i'd like to see this thread moved to the pits just to keep the pointless flaming and the postcount seperate.
(not saying i dont agree with a large portion of this thread, i only question its location)

iDreami?
He talked about wanting to work for Nexon, improving their services. However, I'm unsure if he actually does that or not. Only thing I know, is that he left the community without saying anything (?)

I dunno about about iDreami, but the person he was talking about was Ataraxia. He was a (Global) Mod on SW, and he left because he claimed he was going to work for Nexon. He was a helpful member and well respected. However, I'm pretty sure he had his account deleted and we never heard from him again (at least to my knowledge).
