Abortion Survey -- Need anyone that's 17-25 years old.
#1
Hello friends. I am conducting a survey on abortion for my sociology class and would greatly appreciate it if you could take a few seconds to fill out this VERY short, simple survey. Please note that this survey is aimed at people age 17-25, everyone else need not apply.

Thanks.

You weren't kidding about it being short. 3 questions long. Not even a second page. Sad

If it isn't too much trouble, could you share the findings, and where the survey was advertised, when you are all done? I would love to see the results.

"Asian"
"African American"
"Hispanic"
"White"
"Other"

One of these things is not like the other - this pomegranate really pisses me off. If you list "white" list "black." Otherwise I'm a fucking Irish American despite never having lived in Ireland.

That was short. 3rd question was full of that one phenomenon uh...the word choice effect thingy. If you added/changed words, i.e., women to "men" or "men and women" or input "ONLY women" or "ONLY men" or whatever, you'd get drastically different results...But most people don't know that.

I thought about that a second when I was assembling the questions but when my teacher told me that the survey was "good", I put it out of my mind. I'll make a note of that for the next time I do a survey.

Done. And funny how people try to appear non-racist and end up being racist, only in a "thoughtful" way.

I find it really funny how any survey that's related to the US has that skin color question (which should actually be phrased like, "skin color", races don't exist).

I could never find the reason they were included in surveys, it makes no sense.

Race is a human perception. It exists in our minds.

Plus, it's kinda heard to differentiate with skin colors. Brown can be Arab or Indian. Some people consider Indians Asians. And what would Obama be? Brown, white, or black?

Still, what's the purpose of knowing the person's percieved "race" in this (or other) surveys? Isn't their country of origin/country where they stayed the longest enough information for whatever purpose you may have?

lol @ the way that a thread about one controversial topic has been derailed into a completely unrelated controversial topic.

Wow, only 3 questions. The results of a survey like this aren't going to be overly accurate. The people who will respond are the people with strong opinions on the matter. The people who don't care so much are less likely to bother.
