so will the guilty poeple, this wont work at aall
btw, I found this after i read deeper
temporarily suspended for abusing the Big Foot glitch or any other power leveling glitches
some poeple may of been banned by other glitches/nexons failure of ppl gaining experience too fast

rassilon Wrote:Judging by some of the more detailed posts amid all the griping on SW, it appears that Nexon simply banned anyone who gained some huge amount of experience in a short period of time. Buy a 2x card and grind at Skelegons with friends during 2x event, and BOOM! Several people whom I would believe (due to their reputations, because I don't know them) suffered this fate.
Of course this also nailed many buyers and sellers of leeched EXP, particularly those who also used 2x cards. Sounds like BS reason to me...I know and am one that partied with other players during those times under the same circumstances. I am still here and so are my friends.
I think it has to do with something else. Now, if Nexon could just stand up and explain it clearly to everyone, it'd avoid all of us assuming things.

Well, some guilty people won't know why they're guilty, because they have no clue they've done anything wrong. (Ignorance is bliss.) They may get an explanation, if they're lucky, or some BS form letter if they aren't.
Some others will lie convincingly about why they don't deserve their ban. They may get their ban lifted, or if they are unlucky a GM may have proof of their guilt, resulting in a longer or permanent ban.
As for the innocents, well, I can hope their appeals are heard. Otherwise they are also likely to get a form letter and just have to wait for the ban to expire. Some will dig their own grave by sending angry or insulting tickets, and we know Nexon's reps don't respond well to that.
I didn't say it's a good idea. I'm just trying to think of Nexon's reasons for doing this, and the reasoning behind any slapdash action like this is usually because doing it properly would be too much work.
I really wish they would make clear exactly what they did, so that people who wrongfully suffered the indignity of going off the ranks temporarily would at least know why they got hit.

Ever been to a Jr. Newtie map with a Bishop sitting on a rope constantly spamming Holy Site? That is botting, and I wouldn't be surprised to find out that some of these "legit" players getting banned partied at Jr. Newties or whatnot with an afk Bishop/Priest spamming HS.
I went there once and saw a Bishop doing that I said something about it. The response I got, "everyone does it." So they may not be going after leeching, but bot leeching.

But you didn't spam ultimates, then afk/ leech off those people, right?

They say, everyone does it. What's the difference between putting your finger there and putting a rock there? Since it's no difference, I'll just put a rock there. >.>
That's the reason I think my friend is still alive, even though he sells leech.

Leeching is in no way against the ToS, unless it involves someone abusing a glitch/hacking/botting/etc.
But that apparently hasn't stopped Nexon from banning for it.
And I'm not just talking about that "B> leech@@@@" pumpernickel, either. This includes even going afk for 5 minutes to eat while your party still kills.

You'd think they'd only be going after botters, yet they aren't. Or they think they are and they're just horribly incompetent, which we all know is true.
I un-quit the day of the CWK patch, and I was level 108. As of yesterday, I was just under 119. The vast majority of the exp I gained was through leeching. No, not paying people to leech me, or going afk and botting. Every single minute that I leeched was through friends offering to let me leech. If I was casting HS at all, it's because I was physically at the computer pressing the button to cast it. Not once did I pay anyone, not once did I bot, yet I'm still banned.

Did you party with anyone that botted? If someone is sitting there constantly spamming a buff without stopping Nexon can tell its botting. Doesn't matter if you did it or not, if you were in the party you are an accessorry to the crime.

I've leech a level or two, but that was from my guildie. I don't think it's wrong at all, but it kinda destroys the purpose of leveling... I play on my ranger as much as i can, training and trying not to die with my lolhp at newties. With my hawk now, i can succesfully take bottom, which is usually empty (ignoring the fact that i die in one hit if hawk doesn't stun...) Once I get to 105, I'll be able to leech my guildie extremely quickly at a newties map. I hope to get a bowmaster soon. I will then go crazy testing out my new skills =P
but i wil have the satisfaction that i trained for the MAJORITY of those levels. I do not want to simply leech my way to 120, that's not what i call "Fun". Isn't the point of a game to waste free time doing something "fun"?

No, I have never partied with anyone who botted.

I posted something similar in the Maplestory website:
I got temp-banned on a different account, not this one. I was spamming genesis at newties nearly the entire time cwk was out, 4 hours a day, using a 2x exp card. Only once did I attack a bigfoot and it was with magic claw. There were 2 or 3 other people in the party also using magic claw and one was using triple throw. This bigfoot fight happened before any of us [in that party] even knew that bigfoot could be poisoned / shadow-webbed. Those skills werent used though so it shouldn't have mattered. That was my only encounter with a bigfoot.
Anyway, here's the response to the ticket I sent regarding this "bigfoot glitch" (for all those here saying to submit a ticket through the support system):
btw, that link that was in the response led to the announcement post on the maple story forums regarding the bigfoot glitching.

Yeah, Nexon is just answering all the tickets with the same generic response without even bothering to read them. Typical Nexon. Why have customer support when you don't give a pumpernickel about supporting the customers?

Someone said something like "leeching exp is not a glitch so nexon shouldn't be allowed to ban for it".
They can ban for anything they feel like.
And not just that, but they can even justify this one. If they don't like that people can gain ludicrous experience without working for it, they can push that under the category of playing the game in a way not intended. The feature being abused to do this is NOT in place so that people can sit afk and gain experience, the feature is in place to make partying worthwhile for party members. All they have to do is say "we don't like people abusing the party experience feature in this way" and they're justified in banning anyone that does it. And even if they don't warn you before. Using a feature in an undocumented way (that is to say, they don't explicitly TELL YOU that you should do this with the party exp feature) to gain a competitive edge is listed in the rules.
That all said, I doubt they'd actually ban people for that. Probably just a mistake in their method for sorting out things, although I doubt they would just ban people who got a lot of experience. I would guess that there was some other flag they used to identify it, and that flag gave them false positives. This explains why some people are guilty of getting large amounts of experience yet were not banned, this explains why some people are guilty of abusing Nexon's mistake and are not banned. Basically their method of detection was faulty somehow.
ps Nexon's automated responses are activated when certain words appear in your message. Don't be so pissed off about receiving an automated response, when you're the one sending them a message on a topic they're already flooded with. And no, if you send them a message asking to be unbanned, they shouldn't have to even justify it with a look at it. As far as they're concerned, you're banned, you did something wrong. You're not worthy of their time if you're going to do something abusive with their service that would result in you getting banned. Try sending messages with less obvious words that would require a person reading it to identify what you're talking about.

Yeah, I should have used more generic words to avoid the automated response. Maybe then I would have gotten a real response about it.
And yea... whatever method they used to sort out the abusers from the rest of the population is obviously flawed somewhere...

You're right, instead of asking why I was banned so I can hope to get some answers, I'll just write nonsense that has nothing to do with my problem, that'll totally work.
Nexon's "customer support" is a joke and it never works, no matter what.

its if you level too fast, pretty much if you used 2x for lots of hours during those weeks, non-stop training at a normal spot and youre level like 80+ you got banned.
