There used to be an article that the CEO or whoever said that 10% of the players give out 80% of the profits. Which was a messed up 80/20 model.

Hard to gauge that it's the hardcore that comprise that 10%. For all we know, that 10% is simply the percentage of players who are continuously financially active. MMOs don't exactly have high retention rates for paying customers in the F2P model. Say of all subscribed players, only 30% are active. The 10% he refers to may actually be just 30% of the active sector who choose to put money down for premium features. Of that 30%, only 12% could be high level players who consistently charge NX, while 48% could be Hene whores and Hene whore clients, far from the hardcore category. Hardcore spenders? Perhaps.

Off topic but: I think he was spouting bs. I know plenty of schoolkids who shelve out 10 bucks a month from their measly allowances. Low-level chars surround themselves with avatars; for them, the game is more a social-networking site than a video game.

On topic: Mini-2x cards weren't taken out and karma scissors were put back in. JMS has a jittery cshop so who knows how soon we'll get them back.

The whole JMS Karma Scissors thing is BS. It's an "event" CS item, meaning it's there for maybe a month at a time. Then it disappears for a few months. A few months ago, they SUPPOSEDLY lowered the price of them, but then when they readded them in this last maintenance, they're 1,500 NP again, which is far too expensive to even care to buy.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm refering to. And I highly doubt that 10% base is Henehoes...

I'm just going by a sample of 100-200 people from Alliance/guild/Blist and they're not even all that crazy but the NX amounts I've seen spent either by MTS or through their own pockets are astronomical. Especially after the release of cubes.
