My history teacher said the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki was mainly an act meant to scare Russia because the US noticed how powerful they are during the war. It wasn't like LETS KILL TONS OF JAPANESE PEOPLE FOR THE LULZ.

Lets not forget that the Japanese was actually allies with the western nations (in the early 20th century) before they all got too caught up in the fear of Asian invasion and turned their backs on Japan. Britain actually asked Japan to help them with the Germans in Chinese waters. How many people knew that Japan was actually in the WWI? I know that doesn't really justify what horrible things they did, still, the west betrayed their allies and then pretending they are a scary bunch of people and then try to justify them dropping atomic bombs on them as the right thing to do. Americas done way too much meddling around everywhere, and nowhere they messed with ended up in a happy place.

[SPOILER=Do not read if you're a redneck]I had places like Columbia and Panama in mind but Americans only learn about three post-WWII wars/invasions: the Korean War, Vietnam and the War on Terror. If they advance to college, maybe Iran-Contra. Technically America has never been in a war since WWII but that doesn't mean they didn't go and kill and torture civilians all over the world.
