Questions about xbox 360

Well with my birthday money I some how managed to get $750 or so. Not to mention I still haven't sold my psp go. So what am I buying? A xbox 360 and a unlocked G2!
Im going out to wall-mart or something tomorrow to get the xbox 360 and had a couple questions.

1.) What games do you recommend? Currently I plan on getting fallout 3 to start.
2.) I'm only getting the 4gig version and planning on getting an external hard drive around christmas. Are there any potential problems with this?
3.) What is this whole connect ready thing about?

The external hard drive wont connect with the 4GB or 250GB. You must buy the 250GB or you have to do some work to get the memory chip out of hard drives.

Download more games from marketplace, put more music on your system. Install games to the HD for better game perfomance and security. Nice to have in general.

Kinect-don't be too excited about it for now. Only game that seems to show potential is Dance Central.

Games-Tales of Vesperia-only on Amazon or in Gamestop's gotta get lucky. FFXIII just because. COD42 just because. L4D2, but idk if anyone still plays it. RB3 when it comes out.

EDIT-All 360's are ready for Kinect. They are just advertising the new ones as that because it's easier to hook up, but you should really just buy a new model if you are getting a 360.

*kinect, its microsofts attempt to steal/copy be inspired by the Wii but OMG YOU USE YOUR BODY AS THE CONTROLLER?!

Fallout 3 i would highly recommend, as well as mass effect. Fable 2 was nice while i was able to play it.

downloading games from the xbox live arcade? dunno, i only have downloaded Limbo myself.
if you install a game disc to the hard drive, when you run it the 360 runs much much quieter. other effects are unknown to me. the performance thing varies i guess as ive seen no change on any of the few games i play that are installed versus the ones that arent.

Some games are available for purchase via Live Marketplace, just an alternative. There is also the Live Arcade, custom games and remakes specifically produced by companies and indie game makers.

From my experience, less lag and loading times. Improved gameplay overall. Reduces stress and heat output on the system. Just the better option. Also, once installed the 360 simply needs the disc inside to verify that it is the correct game, it will no longer have to read the disc, hence less heat and better loading rates.

Just to let you know, they are raising Xbox Live Gold membership prices soon. It's not a whole lot but for a 12 month subscription, it'll cost you $60 instead of $50.

Left 4 Dead 2 is a great multiplayer game. It's fun on it's own in my opinion, but multiplayer -really- brings it up. Me recommends it

1. Just download a crapload of (free) playable demo's from xbox live market place, there are a LOT of gamedemos there, that you can check out there before buying the whole game in the first place.
2. The x360 Slim has 5 USB ports, so on top of the 4GB internal, you can use 5x16GB USB sticks (80GB) for extra storage (16GB per USB port is max, also for an external USB harddisk). But if you -really- want to you can expand it later with th 250GB HD, which will be sold separately.
3. This connection port allows you to use the Kinect without using an extra power cable for the Kinect itself.

1. Call of Duty Black Ops/Battlefield Bad Company 2. Pick whatever one your friends play more, although I think CoD is more X-bawks friendly. L4D2 is fun, too, but...it might be hard on the Xbox, since you guys don't cooperate =P.

its not that people cooperate, its too many trolls and random games. when i play L4D2 i play to win. i know when and how to shoot.

I got it this morning and I'm currently on a break from Fallout 3 because I went blind or something. LOL

Ermm How the pineapple am I suppose to get to tenpenny tower? Died like 50 times.

dont do tenpenny yet unless you know how to go. stick to doing the wasteland survival guide quests for a bit. what's your character's skillset and all?
