RULES AND REGULATIONS
BY ENTERING THIS SWEEPSTAKES YOU MUST AGREE TO THESE RULES, WHICH CREATE A CONTRACT SO READ THEM CAREFULLY BEFORE ENTERING.
1. SPONSOR:
Nexon America Inc, (“Sponsor”who is solely responsible for all aspects of this Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes").
2. SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD AND ENTRY; NO PURCHASE NECESSARY:
This Sweepstakes may only be entered by Internet, during the period commencing at 11:59 PM., August 18, 2010, and ending at 11:59 P.M., September 1, 2010 (the "Sweepstakes Period"), as a registered member ("Member") of http://www.nexon.net (the "Web Site"), which said Web site includes Sponsor's online game, MapleStory ("MapleStory"). You may enter by visiting the Web site and logging in by providing your Member Name and Password. For purposes of these Official Rules ("Rules"), all times and days are Pacific Time. If you are not a Member, you may easily register for free to become a Member through the link on the site: http://www.nexon.net by filling out the simple Registration Form. There is no purchase necessary to enter this Sweepstakes; however, normal Internet access and usage charges imposed by your online service will apply.
3. PROCEDURES:
To enter the Sweepstakes, you must submit a review of the MapleStory: Thief Edition app in the Apple iTunes Store. To be eligible to win, you must include your in-game character name and world as a closing and submit your entry to the Sweepstakes link on the MapleStory website. At the close of the Sweepstakes Period, Sponsor shall randomly choose ten (10) reviews and the authors of those reviews shall be declared the winners (“Winners”
4. PRIZES: The following Prizes will be awarded, subject to the procedures set forth in Section 3 above:
The authors of the ten (1) reviews picked by Sponsor as the Winners shall each receive 10,000 Maple Points and a MapleStory Plushy!
Upon verification as set forth above, the Prizes will be sent to each Winner within 30 days of verification. The value of MaplePoints is neither transferable nor redeemable for cash. No substitution allowed, unless elected by Sponsor at its own discretion.
ODDS OF WINNING WILL DEPEND ON THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ENTRIES RECEIVED.
5. LIMITATIONS:
No more than one (1) Prize will be awarded per Member chosen by Sponsor. In event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person entered into the Sweepstakes, the Entry will be deemed to be the person whose name the membership is registered. Entries by any method other than set forth above are void. Open only to persons 13 or older upon entering who are legal residents of, and physically located within, the 50 states, Washington D.C. or Canada (excluding Quebec) ("Territory") and not employees of Sponsor, its parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies; the advertising, promotional or fulfillment agencies of any of them (individually and collectively, "Entities"); nor members of their households or immediate families. In addition, persons entering the Sweepstakes must be in good standing with Sponsor's Web site and have not been banned or suspended from the Website. Neither the Entities, nor any of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents or representatives (individually and collectively, "Releasees") are responsible for Entries from persons residing, or physically located, outside the Territory, or Entries that are altered, delayed, deleted, destroyed, failed, fraudulent, improperly accessed, inaccurate, incomplete, interrupted, late, lost, misrouted, multiple, non-delivered, stolen, tampered with, unauthorized or unintelligible; or any printing, production, technical, electronic or other errors; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections; miscommunications; failed phone, computer hardware or software or telephone transmissions; technical failures; unauthorized human intervention; traffic congestion; garbled or jumbled transmissions; undeliverable e-mails resulting from any form of active or passive e-mail filtering; insufficient space in entrant's e-mail account to receive e-mail; or other errors of any kind, whether due to electronic, mechanical or human error or other causes; even if caused by the negligence of any of the Releasees. Each of such potential Entries will be disqualified. Void where prohibited or restricted by law and subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, local and municipal laws and regulations.
6. CONDITIONS:
Each entrant by entering the Sweepstakes agrees that: [1] he/she will abide by and be bound by the Rules and the Sponsor's decisions; [2] N/A [3] the Releasees are not responsible for claims, injuries, losses or damages of any kind resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from the awarding, delivery, acceptance, use, misuse, possession, loss or misdirection of the prize; participation in the Sweepstakes or in any activity or travel related thereto or from any interaction with, or downloading of, computer Sweepstakes information; [4] Each Winner's acceptance of the prize constitutes the grant by Winner to Sponsor of the exclusive rights and ownership of the winning entry and the design thereto selected and assigns of an unconditional right to use winner's name and prize information and/or statements about the promotion for any publicity, advertising and promotional purposes and/or the right to exploit merchandising based on the winning design without additional compensation; [5] in the event of viruses, bugs, unauthorized human intervention, Acts of God, acts or regulations of any governmental or supra-national authority, war, national emergency, accident, fire, riot, strikes, lock-outs, industrial disputes, acts of terrorism or other matters beyond the Sponsor's reasonable control, corrupt, prevent or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play of the Sweepstakes, so that it cannot be conducted as originally planned, the Sponsor has the right to cancel, modify, terminate or suspend the Sweepstakes; and in such event, to select a winner by random drawing from among all eligible Entries received up to such time of cancellation, modification, termination or suspension; [6] the Releasees are not responsible for typographical or other errors in the offer or administration of this Sweepstakes, including but not limited to: errors in the advertising, Rules and selection and announcement of the winner; [7] any portion of the Prize not accepted or used by the winner will be forfeited and [8] the Releasees are not responsible for any inability of the winner to accept or use the Prize (or any portion thereof) for any reason. [9] the reviews entered into the Sweepstakes shall include only materials that the Member alone creates for the Sweepstakes and not include services, contributions, graphics, video, music, photos, text, copyrighted materials or trademarks belonging to any third parties or incorporating the names, likenesses, voice or personas of any real person or entity other than the Member; [10] the reviews submitted must not include any matter or material that (a) is sexually explicit, unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; (b) is obscene or offensive, or may create public disrepute, contempt, scandal or ridicule; © defames or invades publicity rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any third party’s or Sponsor’s personal or intellectual property rights or contain disparaging remarks about other people or companies; (d) are inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which the Sponsor wishes to associate (which may be determined by the Sponsor, at its sole and absolute discretion); and/or (e) otherwise violates these Official Rules; [11] the design submitted shall not make or imply any claim regarding Sponsor’s products or services and any statements or opinions in any Sweepstakes Submission shall be honest, accurate and based on actual experiences; [12] Any depiction of Sponsor’s product or service shall not suggest an inappropriate, unlawful or dangerous use of the product or service; and [13] Sponsor makes no guarantee or affirmative obligation that the Winner’s design or any other design submitted hereto shall actually be used. [14] Entries submitted for this Sweepstakes shall be original in nature and shall not violate any third party’s intellectual property rights; [15} By submitting your Entry to this Sweepstakes, you grant to Sponsor a royalty-free license to use the Entry in any and all means and manner they deem fit and in all markets and media now known or hereafter devised, without additional consideration; [16] By entering this Sweepstakes, Sponsor grants you a non-exclusive, limited purpose license to use its in-game artwork and material only for the specific, limited purpose of creating an entry for this Sweepstakes. All other uses of Sponsor’s in-game reviews, material and Intellectual Property are prohibited.
