Dual Blades post Big Bang
#1
I've been waiting Dual Blades for the most time since I loved my dual dagger assassin in Ragnarok Online. When I heard of Dual Blades and saw the whole concept, I knew I was gonna totally make one.

I'm playing one now and I love it. Nothing against Shadowers, but I found a level 30 Dual Blade more fun than a level 70 Dit. I love the way you mix their skills and their mobility. I even gave up on making my Corsair (funnest job after Bucc I've played) to main my Dual Blade. I'm gonna skip my Magical Ring with Bishop to get a Critical Ring for Dual Blade.

So yeah, everything's dandy and all. But I haven't seen or read anything about Dual Blades post Big Bang. I've only seen skill tables. Anyone has videos of their performance, or any experience or knows anyone that has any idea where they will stand in the patch? I'm not worried at all about losing power, in fact they're hella overpowered now. I just wanna know if they're still trainable and can still boss decently, or if they really crapped over them boosting every other job far beyond them.

Motivate me to Dual Blade!

Like you I keep reading in the extraction threads that DB get nerfed Post BB...duno if they are serious or not. Be nice to get some accurate info.

Dual Blades weren't nerfed, they were buffed along with everyone else. Nexon focused on balancing the Explorer classes first, leaving the other classes pretty useless in comparison for the first few patches.

What do you call "pretty useless"? People were saying that from Arans, but I've seen videos of them completely owning. Sadly I've seen no DB videos, seems everyone ignores them.

They were pretty useless in .318. The Aran videos you saw were made after they got buffed. Quick recap:

KMST 1.2.318 = Big Bang arrives in Tespia. Mobs updated, formulas changed, etc.
KMST 1.319-325 = Balance patches. Arans, Dual Blades, and co. were buffed toward the end of these patches, around 322-323 iirc.
KMST 1.3.326 = Another balance patch. This is the first version that hits official KMS.
KMST 1.3.327 = More balance changes; most notably the change to critical damage. This also made it to official KMS.

People are often going by outdated info.

I heard that Big Bang increased HP for certain classes... But if you already have that class, you didn't get a HP boost. So like a new NL after BB would have a lot more HP at 120 than a NL that was made pre BB.

Is that true? My DB is already 500 HP below average... Imagine if I get screwed over even more HP wise @_@

No. It's the exact opposite of that.

Well, I have a DB that was 1-74 before BB, and 74-121 after. All I can say is that after the revamp, they nerfed second job, but buffed 3rd job. About gameplay, I think it's basically the same. At 3rd job, you'll be training with the flying assaulter+bloody storm combo, even after 4th job (Actually, I feel like 4th job only helps bossing, training feels the same for me). The only thing that changed were damage %s, and the ability to pot in dark sight (This was included in one of the latest kms patches, and I think it's the same for all thieves).

As you ask: yes, they are easy to train, but they do the best on flat maps (you'll know why); and about bossing... They aren't the best damage-wise, but CoH can be helpful with its ability to KB the monster while he's affected. Also, DB may be wanted for bosses due to Thorns being stackable with SE (only +% crit damage stacks, not % rate), and the fact that Flash Bang works in bosses.

If you wanna know anything else, ask me.

Thank you for your answer!

I think that's all I need to know. It's awesome that Thorns stacks with SE now, none is useless. Cool training, decent bossing, wanted at parties, fun gameplay, that's all I need to continue.

About this, you said DB isn't the best at damage. Then which job has the highest single-target DPM post-bb?

^ And how are DB's in terms of DPM? Are they still good? I'm sick of playing bad DPM classes D8

Also...

FB's delay seems to be reduced a lot. True?
Mirror's Image works like SP (As in like 70% of damage rather than damage range). True?

Idk about the first but mirror image is still ranged based..

No, Mirror Image got changed to 70% of your attacks. Meaning that if you do a 10k hit, the mirror hit would be 7k, instead of 70% of your damage range.
