Chinese Rock

Either this genre is non-existent or I haven't hit the sauce for them yet. Most Chinese songs I run into are often soft melodies like works from F.I.R., Fiona Fung, and the occasional Cindy Wang. What I'm after is rock / pop rock. Particularly stuff like S.H.E:

Jolin Tsai and Jay Chou tend to lean more towards pure pop than rock so I'm back at only S.H.E for Chinese rock. But even S.H.E throws in a few curves and runs back to soft melodies. Anyone know any more Chinese rock artists?

I've heard the 2nd video in your OP somewhere. I want to say it was in that one Dragon Knight video from like... 2006. Lemme see if I can find her. Really like the first one. Let's see if I can find anything that resembles Chinese Rock.

Super star was also used in another 4th job video.

And Mintrified's cool. She's one of the few folks I know who listens to Chinese music. Unfortunately, what she listens to is also more pop than it is rock.



Off on a tangent a bit but most Asian countries release pop more because it sounds more "American" and modern. Even in the littered trash of K-pop, K-rock does exist and is also rare as hell.

I never considered SHE to be a rock group. Some of their songs are kinda annoying, like Don't Want to Grow Up.

I don't really know much about Chinese rock, so maybe it's not nearly as popular as pop. I've never sung any rock when I go K actually...

I love the Super Star song though but it's mad old

Natalie's a pretty cool chick, I still contact her from time to time. She stopped playing lolMS like the rest of us though, I think. I listen to Chinese Rock sometimes, but I'm not really into it...
